The Molecule Man Respect Thread

Respect thread for Owen Reece, The Molecule Man, pretty much the most powerful human being in the MU, and formerly the second most powerful being in all of existence.

I’ll be going through his three main incarnations + his ‘son’ (all Owen’s powers), so there should be pretty clear picture of what he is and has been capable of in all his various versions once I’m done.

I’d appreciate it if no one posts until I’m done, so I’ll just say once I’ve finished posting all the scans and such.

ORIGIN
Molecule Man’s origin

Pre Retcon (Mental Block)
[To clarify, some of these feats are Molecule Man in the body of someone else, as it was during this period where he appeared most of the time via taking over someone who held the wand]

Matter Manipulation
Creates a cube of adamantium out of air

Transmutes and shapes air into a water sphere

Takes control of buildings and shapes them

Transmutes Reed’s gun

Temporarily transforms Infinity Man

Turns Thing to glass

Creates spiked balls in the air

Animates a skeleton-

Turns Iron Man’s suit into iron

Whilst possessing the body of a young girl, does a variety of stuff

Causes water to erupt from a hydrant

Turns a ceiling into ‘gloop’

Creates the ‘Bootomatic Crusher’ to crush the Avengers, possibly the greatest invention name ever

Reconstructs his body from nothing via imprints left on the wand

Uses dust in the air to strangle Tony Stark

Creates an invisible, very strong dome around Jersey, and later disassembles it with no effort

Creates tripwires that are one molecule thick that when broken instantly alert him

Easily destroys Mjolnir, Cap’s Shield, Surfer’s board and Iron Man’s armour, and later recreates all of them, bar the armour due to his limitations with complex objects at this point

Creates a block of water from air

Various examples of him using the ground against the Avengers+Surfer


Talk to the hand Tigra!

Launches star constructs at Cap

Throws Ultron

Drops a mountain range on the Secret Wars heroes

Nails Hulk with some debris

Shields the villains from Cyclops’ blast

Whilst injured, fuses air molecules into a shield then creates gunports

States he could easily disperse a storm, and implies he could tear Battleworld apart

Miscellaneous Powers

Various examples of Molecule Man possessing people through contact with the wand

Transferred his soul into the wand to escape death (this was after Uatu created mental blocks to prevent Owen using his powers)

Can absorb molecules thus doesn’t need to eat

(we see here his current limitations in regard to complicated structures, from food to plumbing)

(in this example Wrecker claims Molecule Man is more powerful than all the other villains combined, and Doom makes sure to treat him well for this reason)

Fights
First fight against the Fantastic Four, even at this early point, the FF could only beat him by tricking him + Watcher based BFR

Easily takes out Surfer

Son of Molecule Man
Before starting I should probably explain, essentially, after Uatu imprisoned Owen in a dimension where time moved faster and blocking him from using his powers, Owen spent his entire lifetime creating advanced technology and created his son using this tech.
Owen then “dies” (as noted earlier he saves himself from this fate), and his son discovers a way to replicate Owen’s powers.

Matter Manipulation
Reverses his ultra fast aging

Effectively turns a random person in Mr Fantastic then over stretches him

Transforms Thing and Man Thing back into humans

Tears a street apart and rides it

Fights
Vs Thing and Man-Thing

Pre Retcon (Mental Block removed)
Doom lifts Owen’s self imposed mental blocks

“I can do anything!”
Matter Manipulation
Creates a boat to transport the villains

Encases the chunk of Denver that was part of battleworld in a dome and flies it

Fixes the plumbing, electricity etc of Volcana’s house
(Clearly beyond his previous limits of having to understand something to create it)
Then following these somewhat mundane feats, he rebuilds the entire galaxy the Beyonder destroyed, and states he can do spacewarps (he uses these to return that chunk of Denver to Earth)

Owns Doc Ock

Wrecks his apartment

Creates an apple

The Beyonder takes control of every molecule on Earth, except Owen’s because of Owen’s control of his own molecule’s (note this is when Beyonder was omnipotent)

Owen then notices this manipulation of every molecule on Earth, then negates the Beyonder’s control over Marsha

Removes every living being from Beyonder’s blast, which reached from Earth to “ the end of infinity”

Creates a huge dome then disintegrates it

Creates a meal out of burnt food

Disintegrates an F-16

Manipulates Volcana, fire hoses and “half the Rockies” simultaneously.

Repairs multiverse wide destruction easily

Compresses his possessions

Tears a tunnel through the ground to reach the Beyonder

Energy Manipulation
Hits Beyonder with a blast that could of destroyed “several billion dimensions”

Collects all the free energy in the multiverse to reinforce his Dome

Miscellaneous Powers
Not so much a feat, but just a demonstration of how powerful he is considered. Owen realises that the Beyonder has destroyed Death, then teleports to the abstracts + LT, asks them to leave so he can talk to the Beyonder and they do as he asks

It’s only with Molecule Man’s help that the heroes have a chance against the Beyonder

The Beyonder states Owen could follow him anywhere

Destroys the Beyonder’s machine, opens a portal into The Beyond realm and shunts the Beyonder’s soul and all his power into the Beyond to create a new Big Bang.

Stated to be the most powerful being in the Multiverse

Warps a room to contain the universe so he can probe it- learns that the abstracts are planning to strike against the Beyonder

Senses the fate of the Beyonder following the abstracts’ attempt to destroy him

Teleports to The Beyond

Sends himself and The Beyonder through time

Detects The Watcher in his living room and it’s implied Owen can travel into the Astral Plane

The way Owen reacts to the Watcher in this scan makes me laugh “I find it pretty darn annoying!”

The revelation that The Beyonder and Molecule Man were parts of a cosmic cube

Matter Manipulation
Freezes Ares in place

Shapeshifting

Turns Bullseye into water but keeps him alive as water

Controls the world around him to create a weird domain

Does crazy things to a small town

Disintegrates Victoria Hand’s shield armour, and also we see how Owen has personified various aspects of his subconscious

States tearing apart galaxies is easy

Owns Venom

Using a tiny fraction of Owen’s powers, Volcana subconsciously heals people in a hospital
