inimalist's Tournament

Is the search for judges really desperate? If no one else is willing to judge, could the three judges we do have just judge both matches? Alternatively (and this may sound crazy), we could have other participants in the tournament judge matches they aren't a part of -- I know we would all have incentives to vote against the teams we didn't want to face, but I think (I hope not naively) that everyone here is pretty honest. I only suggest this because this round was supposed to end a week ago, and it still looks like we don't have enough judges... 🙁

I have no problem with that idea.

I've been ready and willing, and always am. I have not been contacted.

The two tourney veterans above would make great Judges and they seemed willing too.. 😄 I haven't seen Inimalist for bits..

Tricksterpriest, Digi, and BlackBoltZ. Blair gets us to 4. If Inimalist was willing to be a judge, that would leave us with just one empty spot.

ok, so first off, before I give any excuses, I apologize to everyone. You have all been really patient, and I've been pretty much MIA. I've got tabs open in my internet explorer to start PMing judges and such, and that will be done tonight, period.

I'm going to have to level with you, I'm doing my grad thesis right now, and it pretty much takes up all the time I have. Long days at work added to analysis work I'm doing at home, and all that sort of takes priority. This weekend was sort of exceptionally bad, and I'm sorry to anyone whose PMs I haven't responded to, but I can't really promise it is going to get better in the future. If you guys are willing to be patient for my constant delays, I will get this thing rolling, so 🙂🙂 and all that, I just, ya, idk, I feel bad, because I really can't commit as much time to this as you guys deserve. But anyways, tonight I will figure out the judges thing, and we will go from there.

just as a question, I don't know what the precedence is, but if you don't have any issues with me both hosting and judging, I will go that route.

i don't mind really, it's just that the precedent might not bode well with the other competitors if you nomsayin

Usually tourney hosts judge, I've never seen it disputed before as far as I remember...

I don't mind either..

I never did when I hosted, but it's been done. You should really aim for like 10 though. Having the same 3-5 throughout makes 1 opinion lopsided for the course of the tourney.

...in other news, nobody takes my judges warning seriously in the respect thread guide. It's nothing personal to inamilist, he and I get along great, but it's been a historic trend. Very, very hard to drum up enough judges these days for whatever reason.

yep. i had a massive list before any matches started--seriously, i pm'd almost everyone who was semi-rregular in the forum and asked if they'd judge one match. my list was between 15-20 members long. dearth of judges is typically the reason a tourney fails. 😬

they end friday, though 12:00am or 11:59pm is another story

judges have been told to post their rulings no earlier than Friday. If you have something you need to add to the discussion, now is the time.
