Oddly enough, she been shown to be really fast while still in human form. I wish writers would play that up more. When the Runner came to earth looking for the fastest people on the planet he picked her (along with Makkari, Black Racer, Quicksilver and others) . She couldn't transform into her energy during the race and had to do it on foot. She lost the race because she didn't touch the ground enough with her feet.
This actually Monica's fight to lose. She has him beat in sheer speed. Sorry just thought about this.....

Arguably, Monica's reflexes while in energy form are quite better, however, Max can affect her, so she needs to be shifting her energy signature quite fast -something she has failed to do before-. One way or another, barring blitz, she has no real chance against Eric.
How fast does she have to shift her energy forms? When has she failed shifting?
Not exactly sure what Magneto can do if she transform into energy, fly near his head and explodes with the powers of a 50 ton bomb. She done all of this before he can get off his first thought.
