Abeloth is accepted as an ally by the Lost Tribe of Sith to engage the Jedi and GA. After a day of celebration on the Sith world of Kesh, Abeloth psychically attacks its leader, Grand Lord Vol, after sensing his intent to use and enslave her. Despite her vastly superior power (her Force strength is twelve times that of Luke's), Vol's mastery of a mnemotherapy technique and own considerable power (which is said to be on Luke's level) is sufficient for him to exploit a mental weakness in her armor. He manages to severely wound her and escape.

In response, she unleashes "nearly inconceivable amounts of Force energy upon a city that was completely unprepared for it," even though she "barely noticed" how much energy she was releasing.

The effort was such to implode the dozens of Sith Lords and their families in the immediate vicinity and destroyed the entire city.
