On the one hand, we have a Sith apprentice whose skill is established by various sources. He's referred to as one of the deadliest Sith apprentices in history, he's a master of Juyo (which requires him to be a high-end master of multiple forms), and his fighting skills are extraordinary even when compared to Anoon Bondara, whose swordsmanship was among the mightiest of the era.
On the other, we have a well-dressed crustacean who trained Exar Kun. I realize that according to some people, that would be enough.
And with that in mind, I'd say Vodo has a clear advantage: He's from an earlier (better) generation and trained Exar Kun.

Marius is extremely formidable to say the least, when it comes to the art of Debate, and he always seems to know what he's talking about.
His grasp of Jedi and Sith Lore is considerable.

So he wins this, eh? With the Force or just with Saber?

I don't exactly buy that. He's 3rd-out-of-3 of Sidious's apprentices, and almost every Rule of Two Sith Master since Bane was an apprentice too right up to the moment they kill their master. Zannah right before she beat Bane, Sidious himself, etc. etc..
No, Maul being the deadliest apprentice would be the retarded thing. Especially given that he lost to Vader, another apprentice that one time. And Zannah and Bane would kick his shit in. As would Dooku.
Luke Skywalker. Ulic Qel-Droma. Bandon. Naga Sadow. ****ing Starkiller. Maul was far from the best.
Maul. Pretty easily, actually. Vodo fought duels with a lightsaber-resistant stick.
I honestly don't know why anybody considered him a saber master. He seems more like a very gifted retard that nobody corrected because they felt sorry for him and didn't want to shatter his beliefs by informing him that a saber-resistant stick can't actually cut people.
