Catwoman is, for me, one of the strongest books DC has out at the moment. It's not like most of the other books, and its strengths lie in areas most books wouldn't explore, but Winnick, as usual, when he's on form can write some real gems.

I want to pick it up badly, but due to my LCS being like 250 miles away, comics don't come around the household that often. Collected hardcovers are the way to go, but I wanted to know: What's makin' Catwoman so awesome? I've always liked the character, but aside from KMC, I've heard others praise the book. Obvious reason would be good writing, but I wanna know like what kinda shit Catwoman's in these days and all that jazz. Care to give me like a gist of it?

Imo: It writes her as a grown woman; in that it's not afraid to talk about sex, or the dirty side to doing what she does. She's written as a rounded character, someone with deep psychological issues, yet like any rounded human being, she doesn't let them define her. In one issue her and Batman are going at it, and the next she's showing him that she's strong enough to still be her own person.

Plus, and yes, this might sound, well, I don't know how it sounds, but in her interactions with Batman, it actually writes the romance/sexual stuff to be believable, and something I know I've experienced, and I'm sure others have too.

Most writers can't do grown up relationships well. Winnick does (just like he did in Green Arrow).

I really enjoyed JLA. When Superman picked up that truck... Damn.

Nice

Spoiler:
Aquaman
intro too.

been following JLA too and am liking it so far. Hal and Flash are funny and are the stand outs for me. Superman, Batman and Wonderwoman not so much, kinda more of the same.

And yeah, Aquaman's entrance was cool.

Oh, I see. So it's not all: "Can the kitty cat play with the bat" sort of shit we've seen a million times over?

God no. I'd rather not spoil it for you though.

What do you think about Superman being killing-happy against the Parademons Pr?

They're parademons, willing to kill themselves at a moment's notice. With his younger mindset I think it fits either way.

Plus, that shit was epic.

Awesome, gonna throw money at stuff till the hardcovers are mine.

Aquaman tomorrow... Can't wait.

I nearly cried at the end of Red Hood and the Outlaws. Fo real.

Todd said Dick is his superior in everyway?

Btw, did you see that they resurrected Classic Vihz?

That was such a good end to the issue.

Shut up Bentley.

No, but if it's true Imma need a link to the article so I can pleasure myself to it.

I, Vampire once again hits it out of the park. The only thing I don't like about this series is how short the issues are (only 18 pages 🙁.)

Anyway, the next issue is set up to be... Interesting to say the least:

...I read New Guardians as well, and to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it.

Aquaman was good yet again, though the comics always seem very fleeting to me, I don't know why.

Went ahead and read Justice League Dark and The Shade as well.

The former is actually getting better--it was enjoyable and peaked my interest enough to read subsequent issues. Opposite side of the coin, the latter wasn't very good at all. I consider it the second strike for this series.

Anyone drop anything yet? I'm on the verge of dropping Hawkman. I might give it one more issue but I'm not even sure about that.

^ I stopped reading quite a few titles. As of now the only ones I plan on keeping up with are:
Captain Atom
Action Comics
JLA/JLD
I, Vampire
New Guardians

Granted I may check out some others here and there, but for the most part the above titles are the only ones I plan on following consistently.

It actually appeared in the previous Avengers issue.

@Srank: Dropping Hawkman too, very very likely. I don't see why to read it with so many comic books coming out each week.

Just read Flash #3....

WTF did they do to Captain Cold?
