Just caught up on several books i'd been putting off:

Green Lantern is, without a doubt, one of DC's strongest books. Johns always seems to be on form in that book, and the revelations about the Indigos, Sinestro and Black Hand were all very well done, imo.

Catwoman is just a well written, solid book. Winnick actually writes her as being a layered, deep character, and, while I know he has his detractors, his writing of the rare interactions between Bruce and Selina is as good as I could ever hope to see in a comic.

Red Lanterns is a curious book, one that I still think has a lot of potential. Benes not being on art does hurt my interest some, but the current arc has enough steam to want me to see where it's going.

Action Comics is great, still, but on a more subtle level than I'd expected Morrison to go with. Like his meeting with the Justice League, you get to see his youthful enthusiasm that will eventually develop in to a more sensible mindset. Even though I was kind of surprised by the whole armour thing (not that it really matters), the book continues to impress me. I just wish Morrison had been a bit more specific about the development of Superman's powers.

lol @ hv being light-speed though. That was good.

Caught up on Nightwing last night. This Higgins guy is really impressing me with his writing, and I hope he's on the book for a while yet.

Read the new Action. Interesting; classic Morrison with his always hinting at something bigger.

Action was decent--a filler, more or less.

However, for those of you who haven't read the first Ozy issue of Before Watchmen (or didn't plan on it), I HIGHLY suggest doing so ASAP. It is far and away the best comic of the series so far--and in all honestly, one of the best single comics that's been produced since the relaunch. IMO.

Wow really? I was going to pick it up but didnt have high hopes for it.

I didn't think it would be that great either (so far everything else in that series has been mediocre at best, imo) but it was VERY good, imo. Good enough that I am already reading it again. It's a very interesting backstory of Ozy--a story Jae Lee's artwork suits nicely.

I didn't think the writing was that great but Jae Lee completely slays the book with his pencils. Beautiful colours as well. The book is too gorgeous for words to do it justice.

Yeah I love Jae's artwork, I was getting the book just based on that at first. Art and a good story? Impossible!

Holy crap. John Layman (Chew) will be writing Detective Comics! These replacements have been awesome. I wish they would have started this with the relaunch.

Tim Hunter? Frankenstein? Justice League Dark has been tons of fun.

Who is the guy in the tux?

Don't know. Maybe Zatara or Zachory Zor,.

Ah.

Earth 2 was okay. Not digging the new Grundy's bondage look, though.

Bondage Grundy?

Oh yeah:

Kinky bondage, too.

Alan's costume kind of sucks too, also is Alan Scott

Spoiler:
sort of the Swamp Thing of Earth Two... as the Green?

Read the Oz issue and it was really good, the characterization of Oz made sense and was written beautifuly. Also neat to see a young Moloch.

I'd been worried this last while that DC was doing away with all of the Corps... The latest issue of Red Lantern gave me cause for optimism, if only by the title of what might be coming up...

Sucks, though. The various Lantern corps were one of my favourite things about DC in recent years, and had even helped me convince people that didn't even read comics to start reading DC...
