DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

What has been going on? You cant please everyone.

Several writers have basically said "phuck you, DC. I'm out."

Obviously there's some sort of animosity at a corporate level.

Thats nothing new though and it happens everywhere. Perez still works for dc as does morrison. Just not on a ongoing level.

I'm not saying that type of BS is exclusive to DC, just saying that there is definitely something going on within the company that isn't making DC staff happy.

Don't see why/how.

lol, character assassination. really. Cos Johns is so well known for that, right?

Honestly though, are you just mad cos he's not with Lois?

lol. Liefeld Vs Snyder... Nice.

In love triangles, yes he is notorious for that.

Not at all.

It hasn't happened to this extent in a long time. DC is definitely pissing off it's talent; they've said as much.

Now I have to deal with 3 out of my 4 favourite comics losing their regular writer, and I'm really not sure I'm going to be that interested after that.

Because he supposedly did it in one, he's suddenly notorious for it? Where's the triangle in JLA? Hal is with Carol, Arthur's with Mera. Bruce is ****ing Selina. Cyborg is a child, and Barry... I don't even know what he's up to. Steve Trevor's dead, and they weren't even together when he died, so...

Then what?

I'm sure all the staff isn't happy one way or another, but there is probably a lot of aspects that we don't know that happen behind the curtain. Supposedly Jud has been working on this project for months and it's not unheard of for a creator to do their own projects, because living off of one or 2 books is hard, since they don't get paid that much money. Same with Fabian and his side projects. Everyone was speculating that he was pissed off and he wouldn't return to DC, yet, he has.

Fialkov has a second job, because he can't make ends meat with just one book. It seems creator owned projects is where it's at these days. There is life outside of DC/Marvel.

It's not uncommon for writers to be working on numerous projects at the same time. That's a cop-out.

DC just isn't a good working environment, atm. No doubt.

And it's not uncommon for someone to quit there current job to work on their creator owned projects full time, BECAUSE of more control. Some creators just don't like to be smothered by editorial. A few creators only means a few creators. There are a lot more writers who are still working for DC and have not complained. The few are just a small percentage.

'The few' also happen to be some of the best in the game. I feel like you constantly make excuses for DC. No reason to.

They obviously suck on a corporate level. srsly

Yep, they do.

👆

Not sure how anyone can disagree TBH.

Now I'm pretty sure Golgo is actually DiDio

BTW, I wasn't making excuses for DC. I just said that some creators don't care for heavy editorial, which is why many creators go for creator owned books. All the creators who are leaving DC (Even part time) ALL have creator owned projects lined up. Morrison has a few, Winnick has a OGN, and Liefeld has his stuff with Image or whatever. Creator owned seems the best place to be, seeing as there is no heavy editorial.

Grant Morrison?

Wow, I just looked at the release calendar for this week...

Nothing for me.

Grant Morrison?

Grant Morrison was supposed to leave mainstream super hero comics a few years ago, but he said that super heroes kept sucking him in. Then he jumped on Action and Batman Inc and did that for a few years. For people who would pay attention, 16 issues is quite a long time for someone who wanted to do their own thing. I never expected Morrison to last this long. Nothing to do with editorial. Although, I'm sure he's fed up with both Marvel and DC in a way.

On a plus side, he still has Multiversity, among small DC projects lined up that he wants to do.

Yes! The Justice League of America!

Terrible roster. Awful David Finch art... but it has Hawkman so I'll buy it. Damn it. 🙁
