STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Gunrunner

Not that you are aware of, aside from some basic martial classes that the Jedi offer.

Foghren is remarkably dedicated to his martial arts, of course.

Rand will just be impressed with his student, then, as the young Jedi batters the Huhk that was the King. He has no doubt that his Padawan will emerge victorious without too much trouble. Despite the newly granted strength and viciousness of the Huhk Qee, he is no fighter. Foghren definitely.

Rand keeps his distance during all this, to avoid taking any hurts himself.

Indeed, Foghren is quite impressive. He times his exertions well, only making tremendous effort to subdue the Huhk King when he finds an opening and dancing clear of blows when Qee tries to squash him.

It reminds you of how the Padawan Rianna fights.

Shortly, Foghren performs a stellar punch to Qee's solar plexus (tapping Martial Artist and spending a point on Strike) that puts the Huhk down. And without killing him! Foghren has sustained some damage himself and clutches at one of the cuts on his chest as he steps away from the King.

"Well, that was fun," Foghren says.

"I'm sure," Rand says.

Rand will address the King's remaining guards, if they chose to stay nearby, and call on them to restrain the King now that he has become a Huhk.

Rand also wants to address whomever his heir is as soon as possible.

Consider King Qee restrained!

The King's heir is his son, who is not present at court. He is also too young to sit the throne (which is saying something for the Lahsbee).

His head of guard will happily talk to you.

"The King has transitioned!" shouts the commander. "His son will rule, but not yet! I will serve as regent! I hope that's okay with you! I'm a seasoned leader!"

"Are you now?" Foghren asks.

"Yes! Definitely!" yells the commander.

"You speak of King Qee as if he died," Rand says. "And is your regency in accordance with the laws of Lahsbane? I would not want to hear that this is some power-grab maneuver on your part. It would displease me."

Rand is going to remain firm.

"Once a King becomes a Huhk, he cannot rule!" the commander yells. "He loses his wisdom to the primal fury of the Huhk! And yes, this is legal procedure! It happens with every King! You just aggravated his transition! It was not due for years to come!"

"We didn't know," Foghren says. "We're sorry."

"It's okay!" the commander says. "King Qee's policies were driving him toward that path anyway! The Lahsbee cannot be angry or hateful! It turns us faster!"

"You'd make decent Jedi," Foghren jokes.

Rand gives a small 'hmph' at that. The Lahsbee annoy him to no end and he would be loathe to have any of them in the Jedi Temple, or anywhere near Coruscant.

"We need to get on with our mission," Rand reminds Foghren. "The Huhk were armed by an outside party. This succession business is a distraction. The Senate can mediate this."

Foghren agrees.

"We're losing focus," Foghren says. "How are we going to track down whomever gave them the guns?"

Rand reveals to Foghren that he put a tracking beacon on the culprit's ship, if he didn't know that already.

"We trace the signal and follow the ship to its destination," Rand says. "Then we find the owner and find out who his employer is."

"Ah, that's easy then..." Foghren says.

You will have to return to the ship in order to figure out where your culprit went. The Lahsbees will have to handle their situation from there. You've certainly made your presence and thoughts known in your own special way. You have a feeling the Huhk will get marginally better treatment.

The tracking beacon is directing you to an industrialized part of Republic space.

Can Rand narrow it down more than that?

You'll have to get out there to narrow it down! Meaning Foghren tells the Republic pilots to fire up the engines.

"Our work here is done," Foghren says happily. "Time to figure out where this joker came from and why he's tossing around free guns."

Rand- you have a nagging feeling that you forgot something.

Having to do with the investigation?

Yes.

Hmm. Does Rand have any intuitions about what precisely he's forgotten? Maybe evidence of the figure's involvement... wherever we go, I can't just show up and say 'he did it' unless we catch him doing something else suspicious.

I can't think of anything though.

You need to come up with something before you leave the planet, if evidence is your concern.

Nothing is coming to mind. There were no cameras or anything with the Huhks or evidence of his being there left behind. Nothing to indicate him specifically (whoever he is).

In that case, you take off from Lahsbane feeling uneasy and like you're missing something.

The pilots launch your cruiser out into the industrialized part of Republic space. Once out there, you are able to sharpen the signal on the tracking beacon and pinpoint it to part of the sector... but not down to one planet.

Can Rand pull a Vader and use his senses to determine one planet? Combine that with any knowledge that Rand possesses of this area of space, from his travels or research.
