Ragnarok is becoming one of the most annoying maps I've ever played. It's used too much and everyone with a long range weapon is a douche when they camp at either the crashed pelican or the hill next to the base that's near the ocean non-stop. I thought the DMR was a nuisance in Reach. I stand corrected.

you guys wanna hunt for some campaign achievements? I need to get the mission specific ones.

Guess I could maybe try helping with that sometime, though the one for keeping all the marines alive on the 2nd main checkpoint of level 4 is easily the worst one, aside from the one on the 2nd level where you have to have gained 20 ft of air with the Warthog at midnight exactly. If it's 12:01 or anytime after in your timezine then you won't get it. shitsux That took me a few tries at first.

I loved the versions of Ragnarok that Reach and Halo 3 had and such (forgot what the name of it was now), but the one in 4 I'm disliking more now too, albeit for slightly different reasons. Not to mention it was less annoying when it didn't have Mantises.

haha I have no problem with Ragnarok because I haz DMR and I used to play it a lot on 3. Not much has chanced since those days, only that the DMR is a superior version of the Halo 3 BR(except for its 5 shot kill time)

Oh yeah those 2 achievements(mmidnight/marine) are tricky. Tried doing the marine with a friend but we weren't enough to stop the marines from running into a grenade or trying to outwrestle a knight by their lonesome

Just completed my solo run on Legendary. So, first impression regarding the campaign: Game is hard as **** on legendary! lol I hate using the Forerunner weapons.

Anyway, the game started off okay, felt similar to Halo: CE (obviously that was their intention), which isn't a bad thing.

I was mind numbingly bored throughout most of the middle portion of the game, from halfway through the second level to when you

Spoiler:
leave Requiem to pursue the Didact
, I felt that the game suffered from a lack of a proper macguffin. A lot of the time I felt like I was just moving from waypoint to waypoint just because, not as if I was progressing towar some goal. As well, Del Rio's ******* personality was so unwarranted that it was cheesy, and I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see John react a little more to seeing human beings for the first time in years (and the Spartan-4's as well).

However, the story improved once the Chief leaves Requiem. It's always interesting to me how, in Halo, being around humans makes the game so much more enjoyable. After wandering through the somewhat repetitive Forerunner environments (which has been an issue since the first game) by yourself, with only Cortana to keep you company, it's nice to have that human environment, and anesthetic, which always seems to be much more interesting than the Forerunner/Covvie anesthetic.

The dialogue was good, as always; Halo has always had some of the best voice-over work in the industry. The improved graphics really helps though. Being able to physically see the pain or anger on the faces of the character really helped relay the emotions that the game wanted you to empathize with. The ending scenes were indeed pretty sad, and a fitting end for one of the most beloved characters in gaming.

Overall, I would say that the campaign was superior to 3, ODST's and Reach, tied with Halo 1, and a bit inferior to Halo 2's. I'm hoping that they work on a better macguffin for the next game, and don't rely so much on technical jargan as the reason to move you from point A to B. I'm also crossing my figners for a better villain. The Didect was pretty meh.

edit- Also, Jennfer Hale needs to retire. She is FemShep. FemShep is Jennifer Hale. I don't want to see her in anymore games that is not Mass Effect, because all I hear is FemShep.

I'm not sure Legendary is a good difficulty to gauge the overall campaign.

I agree on Del Rio. Glad he is gone for good. I want to visit Covenant worlds Damn it. I also wonder if its the entire Covenant once again at war with humans or if its just that faction, because I don't think we ever got word from the rest of the covies.

I liked the Forerunner world. It felt like the first Halo only 10x.

Well I guess I'm just more-so tired of almost always having to play that map than I am with actually having problems with it. That other stuff is true though.

@ Blax: How was the Didact "meh" ? Me and everyone I know found him awesome! Except for how he was taken down... That prolly could've been done better, not that I was disappointed with the campaign because of that or anything. Agree with you on pretty much everything else, though since you brought up Hale, I wouldn't mind her voicing Samus again, given that it's more than just grunts and screams like in the Primes.

It probably isn't. I've been at the point in the series for awhile though where I do legendary on first playthrough, but I don't let the few negatives I find from that difficulty affect my take on the overall campaign.

Yeah, we didn't. Even if it doesn't make much sense, I hope the Elites are allies again at some point like in 3, because Arbiter. Need I say more?

Yes, that it did.

Will any of you guys help me get the mortardom, marine and the keep unsc gun achievements? Getting owned by a death green water of doom that owns chief and I couldn't get the wraith into the fkn mamooth

Won't have time to today, because work. May be able to tomorrow after I get home though, but I'll probably play some Spartan Ops episode 3 and other stuff first.

It's easy (though a little time-consuming) helping with the keeping a UNSC weapon and Mortardom achievements, but for the latter, whoever's helping has to not go too far ahead of the Mammoth vehicle or they'll teleport you out of the Wraith you hijakced. Was pretty irritated when I tried helping someone with that achievement and another person that was with us went too far ahead of the Mammoth in a Warthog and teleport us out of the Wraith, at a checkpoint, so we had to start all over.

It's understandable wanting to move ahead of the Mammoth because of how slow it is, but don't do it. lol The Mammoth can heavily damage the Wraith too if it runs into it, so that's another reason.

edit: That's odd, that water only killed me when I was on foot. I stayed right behind the Mammoth when I was in the Wraith the whole time and it worked out okay. I think the green water might be deeper on the left side or something.

You don't even need that Wraith. Near the end of the mission, after you talk to the Librarian, there is an open area where you can drive a scorpion. Just jack a Wraith in that area and there should enough wraiths to kill to get the achievement. That's what I did.

For Bros to the Close I did it with only one other friend. Always just charge ahead of the marines to draw the enemies' fire. Once you get to the part with the waves have one person draw fire while the other sits on one of the turrets. If any marines die just revert to the last save point. And another word of advice, there are a couple of marine bodies on that hill already. So make sure you don't restart when you see those.

Damn, that's what I did. The bodies on the hill threw me off into thinking I had gotten some killed already. Ah well.

Thx for the wraith tip. came in handy haha

Let the DMR hate flow through you!

Oh, you think DMR is your ally? You merely adopted the DMR, I was molded by Reach. I didn't see Halo 4 until I was but a man, and by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! The DMR betrays you, because it BELONGS TO ME!

The boltshot is nasty with that one hit kill. Very dangerous when used in combination with the camo. I haven't died by that combo because I usually just go away from camo whores when I notice the dots on the radar. Basically I just don't feel like engaging in a shootout where all odds are against me. Sometimes when I am feeling like terminator in a match I make out the silhouete of the camo user with Promethean vision and engage them, taking them by surprise. People rage over the boltshot/camo though, dem noobs.

I'm so try hard I have to have a DMR and BR lol.

Ammo is awesome. Getting 2-4 extra rockets and 4-6 extra sniper shots is so delicious it should be a sin.

Yeah, ammo is amazing. It's the one I've been using exclusively until I decided to try firepower.
