He can affect the wind, or at the least produce chakra shockwaves. 🙂

Shukaku could do that because he's a wind and sand elemental, just like how the Nibi has fire, etc. The kyuubi is pure chakra (though it is so intense that it "burns" like fire).

And why can the Nine-Tails not also be a wind elemental? The above scans indicate he has some controll over it.

Those instances aren't examples of controlling elements though. That would be having such an intense chakra that it can affect the environment around you. Even human ninja can do that to a much smaller degree.

It is. Like, Sasuke vs Naruto was pretty ridiculous but it has nothing on the fight between Naruto and Pain when the Kyuubi takes over. 6-Tails at one point is shooting lasers like Buzz Lightyear. Insane.

Sasuke vs. Naruto was actualy good though, unlike Naruto vs. Pain.

Yeah, Ichigo treating an attack that made space time its b*tch like a fluffy pillow makes me think Luffy will have a tough time hurting him.

Well, that is FGT Ichigo. His ultimate attack is Mugetsu. 😮

I think it's cause in that fight, they respected the limits of the characters. Sasuke wasn't using a Chidori every second and Naruto wasn't throwing rasengans. It was mostly taijutsu with a lot of cool water sliding. Was fun. Naruto vs Pain though...shit was just too crazy. And ugly.

I liked the bit where Naruto clones formed a giant ladder and started smacking Sasuke into walls and stuff.

Y'know, actual battle creativity. 😐

Indeed. I always knew that Luffy was powerful. Never knew that he was supposedly powerful enough to beat that version of Ichigo.

Though, technically, that isn't FGT Ichigo, just Ichigo that has mastered FGT.

Indeed. Probably another reason the Pain fight failed. It wasn't really a fight of creativity but just sheer trying to over power the other guy.

I don't know what else to call that state so I just call it FGT Ichigo, who is then able to use the move FGT, which transforms him to the point where he can use Mugetsu.

This is the worst fight I've ever seen.

Where the **** did the water come from? He punches the ground and suddeny they're in the middle of an ocean. WTF!? And what the hell were those pipe-things and why were they moving around? And how the **** was Pain ice-skating across the floor and leaping through the water like a dolphin? And what was up with the lasers?

Also it was some of the worst drawn and animated shit I've ever seen. And I'm currently watching Trigun. On top of everything it had incredibly bad fight choreography. And it was soooo effing goofy. Thsis is supposed to be one of teh most traumatic moments of Naruto's entire life. He's supposed to be literally insane at this point. It should be one of the most dramatic things in the entire anime. And Pains getting hammered into the ground, wedged into cliffs and flying around like superman. 😐

Coming off Hinata's sacrifice, which actually made me cry it was so damn good and was gorgeous, it was like a cockslap to the face.

And yeah, I heard Hinata's little "sacrifice" was really well animated.

As for the fight, Naruto is a nonfactor. Luffy would pummel Naruto in any form to dust. Luffy even before the timeskip was in the double machs at base in terms of speed, and was physically stronger than Naruto has ever shown to be. Zoro in the Skypiea arc performed a feat roughly equivelant to Ichigo cutting that hill in half, when he cut through the massive beanstalk effortlessly. Yet despite Zoro doing that much earler, Zoro was barely able to harm a Pacifista. Who Luffy can now effortlessly one-shot. Luffy's demonstration of absolutely making the Kraken a joke with a single attack means he could also pretty easily crush the Nine Tails, being both signifigantly smaller and demonstratably weaker.

Oh the echos of complaints from days of old. To be fair, at the end with Chibaku Tensei, it looked really nice. Kyuubi breathing fire might be a bit silly to some but I didn't mind it.

But yeah, the majority of the fight was garbage. A lot of random stuff where Naruto is picking up stuff and throwing it. Pain looks like a bender from avatar and takes far more abuse than he possibly could. And then some half ass excuse to get water in there so they can imitate the success of the Naruto vs Sasuke fight.

Only part I disagree with is the Hinata thing. I preferred it in the manga, likely because of how quick and sudden it was. The shock of her death was much more sudden and intense in it's quickness. In the anime...it went on...and on...and on. Which, I can see why seeing Hinata being brutally beaten like that would be heart wrenching for a lot...but I didn't care for it myself. Pain never struck me as the type to torture an enemy before killing them so it seemed out of character to me.
