STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Life Debt

Jumping from tree to tree comes with Leaping checks. The can-cell will stay put unless spooked.

No problem, Vera-Kin will give it a go. She starts moving toward whatever she senses stirring, keeping her gun quiet but ready to defend herself.

Vera-Kin nimbly leaps from branch to branch, moving toward the source of your discomfort. It starts to move away, and you think you hear an engine, now that you don't have the can-cell's wings fluttering loudly about you.

Vera-Kin keeps chasing after it, trying to keep up and find out what or who is chasing her.

You think you catch sight of a small airspeeder in the distance... there's no way you can outrun something like that, regardless of your nimbleness and speed.

Blah. Can I shoot at it from this range?

You would need Eagle Eye to have any hope, with the distance and foliage. My, Vera-Kin is a trigger-happy Jedi...

In any case, the speeder and its pilot zip off into the distance before you can get anywhere close to identifying details about either. Concerned but unable to do much, you hop back to where you left your can-cell.

Who would want to follow you out here, and why?

I forgot, does anyone know that Vera-Kin undertook this, aside from the Wookiee chiefs? Vera-Kin told them that her purpose is to find out if the raptors are intelligent like some say they might be, and try to find a way to solve all this arguing.

Vera-Kin will holster her gun and hop back on the can-cell, preparing to continue her journey.

You did tell Kor Valter much the same as what you told the Chieftains.

The can-cell, now accustomed to your presence, flutters into the sky without protest and carries along the route you follow. You no longer sense a pursuer and can return to the treetops, zipping out toward the Wookiee tracker's location. The can-cell travels tirelessly for hours, but eventually, the sun begins to set.

But why would either party want to send someone to follow Vera-Kin? If they did in the first place.

Can Vera-Kin press on through the night or does her mount need a break?

The can-cell is highly efficient and will not need rest. However, Vera-Kin does. You can choose to fly through the night and make progress, or you can try to settle in for the evening and get some rest.

If you fly by night, Vera-Kin will face sleep deprivation penalties.

If you choose to rest, Vera-Kin will need to make a Survival roll to see how well she sets up camp.

I don't like the word "penalties." Vera-Kin can try to find somewhere to camp for the evening, probably high in a tree. She has Survival +2, and I guess it's up to you for the stat used. Intel 5, Charisma 4, Perception 3.

Seeing as this depends on Vera's knowledge, we roll for Survival+Intel. Three successes allows her to find a spot high up in the canopy of the giant forest. The branch you find is a wide enough space for your mount to perch and to rest yourself without falling.

I'm quite the survival expert! Vera-Kin will calm her buggy mount and get it ready to settle down, give it something to eat, then quickly feed herself before tucking in. She probably lays out, using her Jedi robe for comfort and meditating to quiet her mind before sleep. With her strong wanderlust, she uses the star constellations in Kashyyyk's sky to mesmerize herself.

The night sky of any world always helps quiet your mind. Whatever your stresses of the day, you replace that with wonderment at the Galaxy's endlessness. Countless star systems remain unexplored, even in a time when the Republic's citizens have easy access to hyperdrives and starship fuel.

You slowly fall asleep...

...

... and awake sometime later from dreamless sleep when you sense impending danger.

Vera-Kin perks up when her senses rouse her. She immediately reaches for one of her lightsabers, to give herself some light and defend herself from whatever seeks to endanger her.

You would go for your lightsaber... but you can't move much.

Why?! Vera-Kin tries to investigate that.

You can't see much either. It feels like you've been tied up, tightly, all over your body. Except the rope feels... sticky.

Can Vera-Kin sense anything around her? Someone or something had to tie her up...

And she will keep reaching for a lightsaber.
