The Head Chieftain considers that for a moment, then barks out a bit of laughter. He wishes you to consider that a pistol is not much against the armored scales of the raptors, from what they have seen. Unless you are better than you say you are. And he reiterates that they are not the only things out there.
He reveals that they have a Wookiee tracker keeping tabs on the raptors currently.
They can give you the location of the Wookiee tracker's outpost. They will not send anyone to escort you out there, not wanting to risk the lives of their warriors needlessly.
"[You take your life into your own hands]," says the Head Chieftain. "[We will not be responsible for anything that happens to you. Nor will anyone come looking for you]."
How long will it take if Vera-Kin goes by foot? Are there any flying creatures she can borrow or someone willing to fly her there?
She will tell Kor Valter about her plan to venture out, if she can find him in the social and talk to him. She doesn't expect him to come and find her if she goes missing, but she will ask him to keep her in mind.
"I want to find out what I can about the raptors," Vera-Kin says.
"The Wookiees need to make decisive action and need the Senate on their side," Vera-Kin says. "Whatever unhappiness they're trying to avoid, they need to be united on this. It would make the majority against the Trandoshans, who probably just want to see the Wookiees hurt, either physically or politically.
"Whatever I find, it'll stop the delay and action will be taken. I'm just taking the action earlier than they are."
"I'm impressed by your altruism," Kor Valter says. "Or is it foolish curiosity? I haven't decided which one it is yet. Ah well, be off. I'll hope to hear from you."
All this idle chatter has probably driven you insane at this point, Vera-Kin. Time to go! The Wookiees do have some transportation you can borrow, either an helicopter-like flyer or a flying insectoid mount. You need Pilot for the ornithopter or Survival for the dragonfly-esque mount. Kor Valter will shell out the credits needed for either.
Otherwise, it would take a few days on foot. Doable but lengthy. And you aren't sure how long you want to be in the forests alone. There aren't any villages out in the direction the Wookiee scout is posted, tracking the raptors.
Perfect! The can-cell takes you rather quickly then, once you calm it. It will be Survival rolls of Normal difficulty for commanding the creature to do something more than fly about.
Vera-Kin probably looks vaguely iconic in her ragged robes, mounted upon a giant dragonfly and a pistol strapped to her hip. Once credits have exchanged hands between the Wookiee handler and Kor Valter, you can make for the sky and leave the Wookiee village behind!
Unlike the depiction of Kashyyyk in Revenge of the Sith, you're in a region that is heavily forested with the massive trees the world is known for. Where you are headed, the forest becomes denser and greener; untouched territory, even for the environmentally-minded Wookiees.
Vera-Kin is actually quite eager to go exploring in untouched forested wilderness! She likes this sort of thing, adventuring into the unknown to see what she can see. Even better if she's riding a giant dragonfly.
Once she's out of sight of the village, she also straps her lightsabers on so they're readily accessible. We'll say she keeps them on a bandoleer behind her back so they're normally hidden.
"Go!" Vera-Kin says to the flying mount and heads off toward where the Wookiee scout is supposed to be.
Hopefully her Survival skills are up to par for such adventuring!
The can-cell buzzes along, taking you farther and farther from the village where you started. After the tense atmosphere you encountered in the village, this is actually quite relaxing! Just flying straight, the can-cell doesn't need much command, and you can just sit and watch the forest pass beneath you.
You can reach out and feel the forests teeming with life beneath you. Large, small, creatures move through the branches or down on the ground, while your dragonfly skims the tops of the trees.
And yet you feel... followed.
