yes that is the strict sense defintion of abstract, but we also use it to denote a power level. a universal reality warper like legion (who is above Galactus) isnt an abstract stricto sensu, but he is in the high abstract power tier. Galactus and the celestials are lower level abstracts. they are specifically refered to as such in the Thanos Imperative.

G is a trascendent energy being, and therefore 'physical' but so is the phoenix and and even eternity and infinity who are time and space themselves can be said to be physical in a sense.

based on simple english that was taken into comics to provide the reader an idea of the power level and the condition of the said character... you know like elder god is actually an elder god? and cosmic beings are actuallycosmic level beings? and abstract is suppose to be something non physical that cant be hurt like galactus got or bleed? english quan english
Who said an abstract can't be hurt by physical force ? Other abstract beings have been hurt by such and you are trying to use your definition which doesn't even apply to other abstract level beings. I make actual points while you need to lay off the comedic routine. It's not working.

Oblivion was faking it. Said so on panel. Eternity is a jobber so I'll give you that one.

PS did you see my Quasar scan? Scroll up.

nice.
I agree that G isnt the same class of being as eternity and infinity, but he is a lower level abrstract like the In-betweener and the celestials

there are some inconsistencies regarding G's Mbody and that scan though, he usually manifests as a star when interfacing with the other abstracts and his human-like shape remains a product of lesser beings' perceptions

did i say anything about getting hur tphysically? thats a whole different argument which i dont feel like to axtend, what i would like to state is the fact that an abstract being cant bleed or get all broken up like galactus did, galactus proved to have a physical bleeding and hurting body which doesnt apply to the abstract definition and its not something i made up its something marvel used, as i said already marvel used the tearm abstract to describe an abstract being thats what this word means you know, read my red boots response again maybe you will get it this time
That also depends on perception and by the same logic you can say he's a humanoid being in armor but that's just how we perceive him generally. he's abstract level and saying abstracts can't bleed is forcing your own definition on a marvel character which is silly.

I have adressed it, but it doesnt alter my original point much. phoenix is abstract correct? isnt it also an energy being and therefore physical? even THOTU was a physical entity. celestias, true beyonders and such are often referred to as abstracts as well. it is a general power class and in G's case there is also his cosmic role

But the scan clearly states : "What about powerful physical beings like Galactus....."

nop... abstract has a meaning and the meaning of abstract in this case is the fact an abstract being cant bleed or get hurt with bruises like galactus did , and if marvel never intended to use it then why did they use the word abstract? its the same as saying when marvel point planet earth they actually mean planet mars just because its comics.. its dumb
You can find inconsistencies in various things or aspects of characters because different writers write them but Galactius is still abstract level which is defined by marvel not you.

It's the manner in which marvel defines him. Are you saying marvel doesn't define him as an abstract ?

I know. considering that energy is a physical thing, he is a physical being and so is the phoenix force, maybe even ego. I'm saying the term abstract is more flexible than just the strict sense of eternity, death and the LT who are actual abstract concepts. it is used to refer to a class of beings based on power and role in the cosmos, some of which are 'physical'. I recall these huge aliens, much bigger than the 616 universe who manipualted galaxies in it and were confornted by eternity. they reached from beyond - only their hands were shown - and grabbed him like G would grab a human. they were not the embodiments of anything either, but they were most definitely abstracts

still, galactus is not the silly looking giant people see.

How did Thanos blow his helmet off then? When Doom absorbed his power he shrunk in size and was wholly physical.

Zero Hour Parallax was definitely abstract in terms of power. Is he an abstract being in the very definition of the word? No, he's a human (possessed by an, as of then yet revealed, fear demon bug) with off the charts power.

It's obvious that Galactus, for intents and purposes, is considered to be abstract in terms of power, status, and what he represents as a whole to the universe.

oh for ****'s sake, the phoenix force got shoved through a portal by a bunch of metas. it's all inconsistant writing and irregular artistic depictions. they wanted to give thanos a good showing, it doesnt retcon the explanation of G's nature that has been shown several times over. even the human torch once got to see what G really "looks like" and specifically commented on him not being the giant people see.

thank you so much

What does 'abstract in power' mean?
