I repeat again this is a non fight. Especially since the OP mentioned that the mist is on the opposite side of the city.

Cloverfield could enter the mist and kill a bunch of the spawn but they will never leave due to forum setting.

The mist can't effectively kill Cloverfield unless big C does the dumbest stuff possible.

The alternate reality creatures in films such as Demons and From Beyond would provide feats to hurt or infect this creature but these things were nothing more than random fodder.
