Strictly speaking, the musings or words of a character in a third person limited story aren't necessarily factual simply because that character isn't omniscient.

But therin lies the problem. Limited narriation is not resticted to the musing of a character, only to the knowledge of which that character has.

He did take on Morne in sabers during the ambush, and even with her being empowered by Muur (and thus stronger than when she fought Vader) he had a pretty easy time with her.

Which is articulated through external (words) and internal (musings) communication. Bane, for example, would be unable to accurately conclude whether Kas'im is the most skilled duelist in history. Certainly, if he is an informed individual (which he is), he is in a position to determine whether or not Kas'im is very skilled or relatively elite, but I'm not sure he'd know for certain Kas'im's standing.

I will point out that it says that he's perhaps the most skilled in history. Would an omniscient narrator use such a wording?

So what's the silly argument that's going on right now?

N., no.

I do not condemn you for seeking enlightenment, my child. Now go watch Angel.

Not neccesarily. In a limited novel, naration ins't compoed entirely of the character's thoughts and musing. In fact, PoD makes it explicity clear when we are reading Bane's thoughts using such things as "Bane thought".

Your current name throws everyone off.

Anyways, the Bane novels are third-person ltd., whether the narrative is following Bane, Zannah, Johun, or anyone else. The audience is being made privy to information one character at a time, and only as that character sees it. Bane tells us his plans, and as Johun we're ignorant. It's entirely possible for there to be several perspectives and still have central character be unable to speak without the power of the all-knowing author. Harry Potter did that a few times in books 1, 4 and 6---telling us about Harry's background before Harry himself knew, telling us about Voldemort's return before Harry knew, and holding a meeting between Muggle and Wizard Prime Ministers without Harry knowing. Just because it switched perspective, doesn't give Harry supreme authority on anything, much less as an accurate gauge of millennia.

I recall reading the Bane novels through such a third-person ltd. Bane's musing, feelings, observation, and opinion, no matter how vociferous, are just opinions. We don't take Kreia's attitude on the Anicents' skills as absolute fact, we shouldn't do the same for Bane.

Musings need not be specifically identified nor (as they are in other novels, fanfics, etc.) italicized. In third person limited, we are reading events through the perception of the viewpoint character. It's all coming from his or her mind.

Major who?
And while that may be, Angel is better. (And also has pert buttocks.)

I believe I can introduce you to two prominent posters who would shatter your little paradigm here.

I can testify otherwise.

Thank you for editing that slight.

I never said it was. However, Drew does use such tricks suggesting the rest is not from Bane's perpective. Also the narrator isn't shown to be unreliable so I am unsure why we should treat it as such.

Ghost in the Shell >>>>>>>>> Angel.

That's an anime and, on principle, must be inferior to Angel.

Its one of the greatest works of Science Fiction ever imo.

Angel isn't science fiction, but I thank you for the compliment. 🙂
