lol...

That doesn't even look human.

That thing might be in the John Carter movie.

Good god. I didn't know this was a horror movie...

That's my favorite show on UPN. But... 😕

Extended clip of the arena fight, with a promo attached at the end.

I can't imagine some one having doubts after seeing this.

And this may seem kind of random, but: I had no idea Willem Dafoe did a voice for Finding Nemo. I really want to see it now, but it's not view instant on Netflix and none of my "unscrupulous" places are working... lol

Yes, indeed. He's Gill, the zebra fish who's tried to escape before, but landed on dental instruments and has a big scar across his side. He's the one who thinks up the plans for all Nemo to get out of the tank, and then he schemes up the way to get the rest of the fish to the ocean. At which point they're in the sea, bobbing in little plastic baggies of water.

Scene had a Planet Hulk feel to it.

Does look like it will in the very least be eye-candy galore and at least the story is based on a story from a good writer.

Doing my best to resist watching it. It's so close now, might as well just wait for the real thing.. 😊

You're going to build yourself up to high where you can only be disappointed.

Don't worry, the fight scene is just a partial look. You can tell the Green Martian ruler had more to say to his audience, and more things are happening with one of the white apes, off to the side. It's enough to still be a tease.

Fine. So I watched it. And... all it did was hype it more for me, haha. I think it looks excellent. The trailers are amazing, that scene was very well done. I can tell he's an excellent director and he has put his love of these stories into the film. (I've seen WALL-E and it's really good; however, i've not seen Finding Nemo, but I know it's highly regarded). I'm fucxing excited about this. I think it looks like one of the most epic and appealing sci-fi stories ever. Which would make sense, because it has influenced so many others. I was pleased to see that in some of that ending footage there looked like there was some pretty brutal battles. Hard to believe this is squeaky-clean Disney. Whoo-hoo, can't wait. I might have to catch the midnight showing if I can..

Yeah that really feels like a short film.
Considering Chronicle was an hour & 22 minutes, John Carter feels much more epic to be told in such a short time span.

Well, there are like 8 more novels to adapt, so if it does well, there's plenty more where it came from... heh. I guess I'll forgive it.

Lets hope nothing has been cut from the movie adaptation for the Edgar rice burroughs fans.

I can't remember how ridiculously big the budget was...I just can't believe Disney would invest so much into such a short film.

I mean I'm already comparing it to Avatar for sheer escapism but with more substance.

It's a big gamble to talk or rely on sequel potential for profit.

I'm dare to watch this movie & thanks for sharing.

I think the estimate is $250 million. You know, pocket change for Disney. 🙄

I mean, i'm not necessarily gonna say it's a bad thing. I mean, some people complain if a movie is too long. I know my dad doesn't usually sit down to watch something if it's 2 hrs or more. And I personally think the LOTR movies are far too drawn out (even with the theatrical releases). The run time does kind of clash with the epic nature of the film, but it is just "pulp sci-fi" (as i've seen a review mention), so it might just mean it'll be better paced... less bullshit. I'll wait to see how it plays out. And with something like this (with so much material to adapt), of course Disney is banking on sequels. Stanton is already writing the sequel to get a jump on it in case it does well. And dear lord I hope it does well, because the next book is even pulpier sci-fi.. it's great.
