Just like characters, objects such as shields have both high and low feats. Either that or the shields new limit has now been reduced to being able to be damaged by skyfather level power.

What feats does the shield have against non breaking?

Cap's shield has been slagged or bent multiple times now by Skyfathers. It's not a new limit.

Even though it is a horrible showing for Galactus (he should one-shot kill all the Asgardians), it makes clear that Galactus was showing restraint all throughout the "battle".

Also, Surfer doesn't really want to fight for Galactus.

Exactly. Remember what Thanos/Drax/Surfer did to Asgard and it's defenders? Odin had to jump in and save the day. If those three were capable of completely overwhelming Asgard's defenses, then Galactus for sure could have one shot the entire lot and then crushed Odin.

Also, Surfer doesn't really want to fight for Galactus.

Surfer needs to start showing more loyalty to the guy that made him what he is. I mean it's not like Galactus is doing this out of spite or malice, he does what he does to survive because he's a needed universal force (confirmed by the LT and others).
