Austria is pretty nice in many places, I don't see much difference in quality of life between it and most other "first world" countries I've been to.
I heard good reviews from a friend of mine who's visited Vienna, but the hotel experience over these left much to be desired. The rail tracks and roads in some regions were also reminiscent of something you would expect to see in Mumbai or a poorer region of China.
TBH, I found the experience in Kragenfurt and Eisenstadt to me much better as compared to Vienna, although on the whole the experience still wasn't good. Germany was far and away a better destination from tourist's perspective in my opinion. I probably plan on studying there for a higher-level program like a PhD in the far future.
Smh, maybe I was just struck with a potent case of cosmic bad luck when I visited Austria. Whatever, but I am not going there again. If I want to get an experience of a third-world country's way of life, I'll either stay home or visit some place Xinjiang, Haiti or a West Asian country.
