Containing the explosion of a planet due to brute strength alone, are several magnitudes higher in difficulty to achieve than simply towing an object. I disagree that Thor would be able to do it, and even if he were able to, it only took the Hulk 5-10 seconds to ramp up in strength to do that. He could have gone far higher in power.
