Don't really know about either dog, though I hear the Husky is the most abused dog because it's really hyper.
I would suggest that you get a German Shepherd.
I've owned a few in my days, awesome dog. Also very smart for a dog, the only two that are smarter are Border Collie and Poodle. But German Shepherds are prettier.

Pitbulls are like every other kind of dog, they're only mean if a person makes them mean.
I've owned Pitbulls, and currently own 3 Rottweilers, and a German Shepherd, and they're all incredibly people-friendly (especially the Rottweilers).
