Gladiator vs Wolverine

even if gladiator's speed was reduced to logan's level or slightly below, it would have epic consequences regarding his coordination, timing, reflexes, etc. he hasn't had the experience fighting at that rate of speed, especially against an opponent who only needs one or two swipes of his claws to potentially end the fight. gladiator's nervous system & timing is conditioned for fighting at a certain tempo without restraint; without it, he would essentially be reduced to crude brawling against an opponent who is arguably one of (if not the best) fighters in the marvel universe. both in terms of skill & combat speed.

Seems a bit like reaching for a win.

Logan won't be ending this fight with only 1 or 2 swipes. Swipes will not be that effective vs. Glad. Logan will have to resort to strictly thrust type attacks like he did in Annialators and even that 1 stab wound he managed to inflict healed instantly.

Glad still has superhuman strength and stamina. If he connects (even while Logan is blocking) it's going to be a devastating blow.
The concussive force may bfr him.

the usage of the term swipes was hyperbole; however, considering logan was able to wound gladiator with superspeed intact, I don't see how gladiator with speed turned off is going to fair well. gladiator's superspeed & thus super reaction time is no small matter. with that gone, he would be far more vulnerable & likely to take massive damage from logan's claws. even as hyperbole, 1 swipe to the face followed by 2 or three thrusts type wounds could potentially end the fight. logan has shown what his combat speed is capable of when he fought thor.... and thor had his hammer...

if gladiator didn't bfr logan on many other occassions with superspeed on, he's almost certainly not going to have the right angle or sufficient speed to bfr logan.

Removing superspeed is supposed to remove an advantage, not remove an advantage while also crippling the person's ability to fight. I'm fairly sure that if you ask the thread starter, he'd agree that Gladiator is supposed to keep his "coordination, timing, reflexes, etc".

Logan blindsided him from above with the thrust attack. Glads was shooting hv at Ironman not paying attention.

Im not quite seeing how Glads is supposed to be so vulnerable when his wound healed asap. When Logan does stab him, all Glads has to do (before Logan retracts) is grab hold of him and apply headbutts/knees to mid-section/multiple slams while holding his arms/or just simply fly off to space.

^ Quiet. Wolverine beats Thanos in a melee fight w/o powers according to srankmissingnin. Gladiator w/o superspeed would be no problem.

In fact, I'm sure srankmissingnin will describe how Wolverine beats both Thanos and Gladiator in a melee fight soon enough. One superstrong guy who's cuttable is (apparently) worthless against foot-long claws. Why would two superstrong guys be any issue? He's got six snikty-snikts. Three for each of em. Ya'll better recognize Wolverithmetics.

nuts at this thread.

ps--does anyone have the actual scan of this attack on gladiator?

Wolverithmetics huh?
Now I get it. ✅

The study of mildly depowering opponents against Logan to such an extent that it would catapult him to herald/trans level.

Intresting field. 😎
