I don't know about that. I've yet to see anything other than just senseless whining.
The Old Dante was just in the MvC3 games and is going to be in Project X Zone. The New Dante gets in a crossover of his own and all of a sudden, people are crying about it? That's just ridiculous!
I look forward to playing as the New Dante in this game. He even still has some of the Old Dante's moves too.
I dig the look of the new dante to be honest, looks more modern and cool than the old metrosexual DMC3 dante although he looked kinda cool in the first game.
Honestly the gameplay looks tight but I think they may need to work more on the soundtrack and stages because they seem kinda weak, one of the best things about the smash series is the soundtrack.
Sackboy looks fun to play.
Superbot now has to respond to the criticism of Dante being added.
Honestly, while I'm part of the group that feels irked by Dante's inclusion, he does look fun to play overall and I won't be surprised if he's one of the first few I play as.
Also, I like that stage that combines Uncharted 3 with Bioshock Infinite and I really hope it's not a replacement for the Uncharted 2/Starhawk stage that was seen in early development. That looked more awesome.
Here's the current version of the character select screen:
This really looks more like the one in Smash Bros. Not that that's a bad thing though because I like it.
So I found an interesting YouTube comment regarding New Dante.
This is ****ing embarrassing. This game advertised itself as a celebration of the Playstation and PS2 library of games. No one can ignore the bar set by Super Smash. DmC isnt even out yet and youre using the new version of a character everybody likes, a version that no one likes. No, I am not buying this game, nor DmC. And theres more people that think like me.
And 39 people actually thumbs up the loser. It's true throwing in a character from a game that's not even out yet, let alone demanded in a fighter that's supposed to celebrate Playstation's long history is pretty silly IMO but that doesn't make me judge the game as a whole, especially when there are more than thirty characters to play as besides him. Don't like Dante? Well then why not play Kratos, Cole, Sly, Parappa or Drake? Morons.

Agreed. Though even as a fan of the new Dante, old Dante would fit better for being a fan favorite and being from a game thats not just coming out. Still no reason for those fanboy tears.
But why the hell would anyone stop playing the game because they dont like one character? >__>

I guess while fans of the original DMC boycott the new one, they believe if they buy a game like this that has the not-so-original Dante, it would go against what they're fighting for.
Yeah, I'm tired of stupid comments like that and people actually agreeing them. How can someone not play the game just because ONE character? Seriously, these people never learn. At least there are other people talking some sense into him.
The way I see it, this game represents the past, present, and future of PS and I'd say New Dante represents the future. That, along with the fact he's still representing a franchise that's been highly associated with the PS consoles (despite his new look), I don't see why anybody would whine over his inclusion as much as them.

As far as I see it, New Dante represents a new franchise, not the same one. Snowy haired, pizza loving Dante still represents what's one of Playstation's popular former exclusives. The two Dantes are very different and as Capcom told people already, DmC is not a reboot and the two Dantes live in two different worlds so stop saying they're the same.
It was already confirmed to be a reboot and even so, it's still part of the same franchise, no matter how much you think otherwise.
Also, a German site claims Cloud would be in. I hope it's true!

Well despite it being a reboot, Superbot promised PS owners the roster would be built up by fan demand and compare the original Dante's cult following with the mixed reactions to New Dante and you'll see why so many people are upset over it.

I second this.

Upset enough to turn this game down?

You saw the YouTube comment I posted. What do you think? Some people will probably be that stupid but most of us will get the game and I'm not having this ruined for me because of one frikkin character. While I too am not a fan of New Dante, I'm not gonna be a drama queen about it. I quickly got over him being in All-Stars but it still bothers me how Superbot decided for us he should be in it. It makes us wonder.
Fat Princess is banned in Japan.
If this is true, will it greatly effect the Japanese releases of All-Stars?
