lol, why not? That's why we're all here, I assume. To get big dicks over movies. Hell, I spooge all over myself when I watch movies... or maybe just certain movies... hmm... lol

Already seen too.....great movie.

So the Super-Genius known as Rush Limbaugh has used his master-mind to uncover a Hollywood plot against presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. Apparently "Bane" the villain in TDKR was used to make Romney look bad, as it obviously ties in to Bain Capitol; thereby tying in to Mitt Romney. Dun dun dun-nnnnnnnnnn!.

YouTube video

Also, Fox news took it and ran with it too.

Bunch of ****en idiots........what else is new.

Lol, yeah, Rush Limbaugh is an idiot.

Dictionary.com

bane
noun

1. a person or thing that ruins or spoils: Gambling was the bane of his existence.
2. a deadly poison (often used in combination, as in the names of poisonous plants): wolfsbane; henbane.
3. death; destruction; ruin.
4. Obsolete . that which causes death or destroys life: entrapped and drowned beneath the watery bane.

It's an old character, isn't it? He had the same name in Batman & Robin and countless other films/comics before that.

Been around since the early 90's.

Oddly enough it looks like Avengers will end up with a better RT rating. So far this has 24 rotten reviews out of 185 reviews where as the Avengers only had 21 rotten out of 279 reviews. Even still it looks like this movie is a big hit and I'm incredibly excited to see the movie!! Not seeing it at midnight but I've never seen a movie at midnight. I'm patient. 🙂

Bain Capital uses steroids?

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop by and give a friendly reminder to utilize spoiler tags when appropriate when discussing this movie.

Thank you.

I'm very critical when it comes to Batman films. I've grown up reading the comics, the novels & watched all the previous movies not to mention cartoons...& I'm convinced that Nolan may not have been the ideal director to bring the last 3 Batmans to screen...

Don't get me wrong, Nolan is a great director. However I felt in making TDK & TDK Rises such a grand & elaborate production, he somewhat lost vision of Batman himself.

Rises has an epic storyline but once again the backstories of every other character from Bane, CatWoman, Gordon,Blake, Fox, Alfred & the love interest takes focus away from Batman himself. He comes across as 2 dimensional whereas Bruce Wayne is given a stronger presence on screen than his avenging alter ego.

Then you have Gotham City itself. Nolan has a strange fascination for cities, buildings, architecture ( just look at Inception or any of his movie promotional posters). Yes, Gotham City is where the story takes place but Rises could've easily cut back on the long spanning shots of the cityscape & focussed more in giving Batman more screen presence.

After watching Burton's efforts & then Schumachers'...I give them both credit in the fact that they stayed true to the comic & true to the character in the fact that Batman is only seen at night & utilises darkness & shadows to his advantage. Both Burton & Schumacher had some great fighting moves for Batman & especially utilising his cape as a weapon or for casting fear & gliding...whereas Nolan's Batman, the cape is more a hinderance, an afterthought.

What I hate about Nolan's verse is that Batman appears in broad daylight. He looks odd...a guy in a rubber costume that doesn't strike fear (in my opinion) to the villains around him. Batman looks awkward & stiff...Nolan took the myth & legend away & exposed Batman to be mortal after all. Nolan seems to disregard the fact that his hero is dressed in black & looks like a creature of the night for a certain reason.

So overall I think Rises is a grand film made on a epic scale but unfortunately my favourite hero seems lost & confused & sadly the weakest link amongst solid characters around him.

Great film. I'll have to see it again but it's probably my favorite of the trilogy.

Some mild spoilers:

Spoiler:
It's pretty much an adaption of the Dark Knight Returns which is a great thing.

The one unfortunate thing is that comic fans will see the "twist" a mile away.

Spoiler:
What twist?
??

Spoiler:
Talia is Ra's's (?) child not Bane.
Spoiler:
you sure about that?.....i thought it was Talia that escaped from that prison and not a young Bane
Spoiler:
Yes, but the film presents it as Bane being the kid. At one point Batman even exclaims, "Bane is Ra's's child" (or something to that effect).

3-minute except on Bane

can see some things that they used for the new movie.
