Ulik has thousand of years more fighting experience than Logan. He has matched Thor in, strength, speed, durability, prowess, even though Thor has his hammer and magics.
Ulik is just a Thor-level, baddass warrior. More devious and ruthless than Thor. Putting up a serious battle against Thor even though he doesn't have the fancy tools, (except his metal pounders).
Logan is doomed.

He has not matched Thor in strength or durability. Thor one shotted him. Also even though Thor is written down to his level (Colossus level) Thor still dominates him.
Ulik is a Thing/Colossus level foe that can fight well, nothing more. Never forget that.

well, we've seen on panel logan take down abomination with only a few slashes. guess it depends on his you view that battle. if you don't see that as pis, logan should certainly stand a chance here. if you do, then you likely see it as spite. given logan's history vs bricks...... 😬

Even if it was razor sharp, could a person swing it hard enough to slice through a tree made of wood? Even though the ax is made of steel, and the wood can do no harm to it, a person still can't slice a tree with it.
Not strong enough.
So, how has he been slicing some of these guys that have hides that are supposed to be strong as, or stronger than steel?

he's been doing it for 30+ years. and of all the illogical things that happen in comics, yo question that logan can cut someone? his neck can't be broken and his skeleton is fused with adamantium yet he can still move. his ability to cut pretty well anything is the LEAST illogical part of logan's powerset. 😐

What long drawn out battles? I never seen any of those concerning Ulik.
Also classic Thor was infamous for battles with Mongoose and other foes that are far below herald level. Thor would simply eradicate Ulik with ease if he wanted (the same as he would against Ben or Colossus).

Not really. The fusing of the admantium could have rendered it organic metallic in a way, responding to Logan's nervous system. Similar the way Colossus is able to move while in metal form. Also it could be that Logan's joints aren't completely fuzed and allow him freedom of movement.
But there has been plenty of times in comics where Logan wasn't strong enough to either cut something at all or just deeply enough. Examples, are Colossus, Thor, Hulk,...

Ok I concede there. But still, Classic Thor was written down to him just like several other foes. The only way to prove that Thor wasn't written down to Ulik then there must be some evidence showing Ulik dominating Thing level like foes or consistently having long battles with other herald like beings. Since there isn't any combined with the bad showings outside Thor, then hence the reason Thor was written down to him.
IMO, I will not except that Logan can cut through him sufficiently deep and so Ulik beats him.

sure. COULD be. but no logical explanation has really been given though maybe srank knows of one. the peter anaology fails miserably though because adamantium is SUPPOSED to be completely immuteable AND it is NOT a natural part of his mutation. so even your explanation doesn't make sense because adamantium cannot BE rendered.

i'll not bother to list all the times he WAS able to cut things FAR more durable than thor's skin. and hulk? he's spent a career slashing hulk to ribbons. hulk's healing factor is what saves him. ulik has no such advantage.
again, i'm not actually saying i think logan wins. it depends entirely on how you view his past battles. given the evidence though, i'd certainly say logan could damage ulik substantially AND if he won he's done enough to say that it wouldn't fall into the category of pis imo.
