Anyone else think he's gonna secretly escape and survive?
I have a feeling they'll leave it with him living and then refer later as the show ends in voice over how he and the slave army fought on but where eventually defeated and leave it that Spartacus may or may not have died. Since Spartacus' body was never found.
Not sure if they'll do a CGI of the Appian Way littered with crucified slaves. But one can hope.
Which also means Gannicus might live, since he died after Spartacus' believed fall.
Though this was after Gannicus broke off with a group of Germans and Celts and not sure if they're going to have Gannicus pull a Crixus on the show.
Leave that poor woman alone, hasn't she suffered enough already!? You demon.
Was anyone else making note of all the Braveheart elements in this episode?
I'm actually surprised at how good it was. Gannicus' last scene was very well done. And whats-her-face getting put up on the cross beside him was hilarious. But not quite as hilarious as Caesar's "This does not belong to you, slave." F*cking loved that moment.
Tbh, I thought most of the death scenes in this episode were done quite well. Saxa, Spartacus, Nivea, Crassus' phuck-slave, etc. But yeah, Gannicus' death was one of the better-done moments in Spartacus, period-- gave me chills. Imo, it's only equal might be the Theokoles/'bringer of rain' battle from the first season.
On another note, it is cool to know that Spartacus was still skillful enough to best Crassus, in lieu of being extremely fatigued, and nearly dead, at the time.
Yeah I've not met anyone who agrees with me about anything Liam.
Andy had Leonardo Dicaprio syndrome I feel--really good at yelling and being angry, not that great at anything else. McIntyre is just so much more commanding and emotive, traits I expect to see in the leader of anti-slavery army made of former slaves. Andy was just... okay. Not bad. But not that good either.
The kickass beard didn't hurt.
