Aquaman vs The Lizard

The fight will occur on a bridge in New York.

Aquaman will be armed with his Trident and equipped with his scale mail armor whilst the Lizard will be unarmed. (Claws and tail should fair just fine)

Aquaman is fighting for his wife, Mera, who's been kidnapped by The Lizard.
The Lizard is fighting because he is very, VERY angry with Aquaman.

Aquaman would defeat him without even trying.

Current Aquaman V.S. LIzard (not sure what his current state is) But I think it would be a decent fight. Aquaman had trouble with that weird fishy guy that didn't seem all that impressive. But still I think he would best lizard due to his skills and other small powers. Pre-reboot would shit all over lizard.

Arthur wrecks him.

Not if we use current versions of both.

I'll go with this

The guy he fought was more powerful than any of the minions around them by a fair amount, so Arthur having some trouble with him wasn't that surprising imo. Plus, Arthur wasn't out to kill them during that fight either.

Then there's the stuff about Arthur tossing trucks, taking bulletfire that barely broke the skin, surviving a magma pocket exploding in his face, and shifting large masses of land with nought but physical strength.

Johns so far, at least to me, has kept him consistent with pre reboot Arthur for the most part. And he'd tear Lizard in half like a phonebook.

Yeah Aquaman is several times stronger than Lizard

This was my first thought

Wait; can Aquaman use his telepathy? I'm not sure what the OP is stating.

If he can, it's a horrific stomp. More-so, I mean.

Lizard also has a kind of telepathy these days.

How proficient is he with it?

Aquaman wins this easy. Alot stronger and more skilled.

This is not a stomp, I agree that AM wins this but it's not as one sided as some people say it is, I post scans if I find them on my HDD.

His telepathy is really going to stack up with Aquaman's? Really? He's had that much of an amp?

Aquaman is stronger. More durable. More skilled. His telepathy is far better than people give it credit for.

Or did Lizard get some kind of massive amp I'm not aware of?

this is the best stated argument imo!

It really saddens me tho I actually thought people was starting to give him more cred then putting him against the lizard......

Was the weird fishy guy Slig?

Because he's a 100 tonner.

Aquaman actually fought the deep six back in the 90s, alongside his son Koryak and Koryak's mother.

true but not THAT much, at least by what was shown since reboot.

Lizard threw a bulldozer high into the air and bursted through a street from the sewers.

That's actually wrong because Lizard actually is bulletproof

No doubt, yet Lizard has a tail which he uses in battle that, at least to a certain point, compensates the lack of skill.

What has he done since the reboot that was impressive?

Lizard in his very early showings then later around 2000 and since the upgrade officially again has a telepathic connection to amphibes and reptiles. He can trigger a gene in the human body and turn humans into lizards too and use them for his purpuse. Actually since the upgarde he has similar powers to Aquamans.

The upgrade was pretty intense considering that Spider-man now needs to prep his brain with a pill everytime he goes for the Lizard to block out his TP.

So to sum everything up, I give Aquaman the win here it's just not a stomp he would have to work for it, that's all I'm arguing here.

As recent as issue 4, Aquaman moved a piece of land the size of a small mountain to seal off the trench. And you don't want to see the kinds of things we was doing pre-reboot.

A bullet barely breaking the skin is not exactly proof that Aquaman can be harmed by bullets to the extent it would make a difference in a fight. And Aquaman has taken shots from Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter. And if we purely go post reboot, there's the magma vent exploding in his face, destroying his "armour" but leaving him unfazed bar a few cuts and bruises.

Aquaman fights underwater. A tail isn't going to make a huge bit of difference tbh.

So you want to go just post reboot then, even though Johns wrote Brightest Day Aquaman too?

Btw, Aquaman doesn't just have animal telepathy; he has normal telepathy too. Calling on some lizards is nice and all, but calling on stuff like great whites and blue whales is the kind of shit Aquaman does casually, and in greater numbers.
