They get points for originality - Blueberry Boat is a legit triumph of postmodern indie rock, for example - but I can't really listen to them often.
"Indie bands" is such a ridiculously wide open genre. Two fans of indie rock can compare a dozen bands each and not have one in common. So I don't pretend to know a whole lot about the genre as a whole, but I pop on Pitchfork every now and then and listen to tracks. When a new band strikes my fancy, I get some of their music. FF managed to do that once, so I'm somewhat familiar with them.
