USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

Denzral will follow suit with that plan, blasting or slicing any droids within range.

There isn't a droid immediately near you, Denz, but you should take cover in a hall corner or something. There are a few in that hallway.

5-1 is initiative to you.

Indeed, with a mighty pull, Aurel handles the floor situation himself- revealing an incredibly cramped maintenance shaft heading off and down. It doesn't look very practical for people to crawl around in; there's barely any space at all. Vera and co then join you guys, and immediately you are thinking there is no way you are all getting in there.

Xeth does indeed clear out inner north-west! Sadly these droids don't seem as stupid as Federation droids and more aren't walking into the death zone.

I'll say Andro and co have cleared enough of the area to disengage safely, but do bear that in mind in future if you are trying to move out of a fight.

Denz and Roan are now under fire from droids at the north t-junction, whilst those by the hatch are under attack from the south.

Xeth will turn his grenade launcher on the inner northeast corner then, while everyone else closes out to the north, out of the inner area.

"Get moving, everyone," Xeth says.

Can Gallagher see/sense how far down the shaft goes?

Either way, Aurel should go first since he's the swordsman.

We're still very much lacking a clear strategy here.

Can we all agree that descending is our best plan? There's nothing up here for us but droids and droids and droids.

(Points you to rather blatant clue about that I gave above)

And as Sunda said earlier, the droids in this area seem to be defending something. And why bulkhead off somewhere for no reason?

Maybe descending if you cut out all of the floors... it's going to take awhile.

I think we were on the right path going into the center area, but went in undermanned and split up and triggered all the traps. We need to forge ahead and clear it out like we were doing.

Things look a little better now. The group just needs to move in together, rather than go left and right evenly.

Well there is a physical space limit.

(Yeah, I'm with Xeth, we need to go back toward the 'core' area, but with better organization. Since there is that space limitation of 6, maybe we still split up, but not nearly as much as before.
If I count right, there's 15 of us. So, two groups of six, one going around to the right, the other left, and two 'rearguard' groups of 1 and 2 following after?
Even if we divide the groups slightly more evenly, let's advance in concert, trying to never to have one group out of sight or more than an "area" away from the next. That way we can support each other better and are much less likely to be outnumbered.)

So, in terms of plan.
The droids are defending something, as we have determined. That thing is probably in the middle of the map. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a final Center room in the middle that they are defending.

So how do we get to that thing?
It seems like we have 2 options, we either cut our way through, and try to take out all of the droids, or we find a way to deactivate the droids and the security system.

There are problems with both plans. Killing all the droids is dangerous, and there a whole pile of them.
However, we don't really know how to turn them off. The hatch that Aurel found might be a good start, but its cramped, small and we don't know where its going. We might want to send a Padawan down there to check it out, as we can't all go piling into it. We might not even be able to fit.

Thoughts?

(Cut our way through. We've made it a fair way in at this point. We just need to go in more organized.)

Sticking to one path as we cut to the center, as opposed to splitting up like last time could work. Perhaps have Xeth and two or three others to take point, heavy weapons blasting the large groups of droids down while the rest mop up on the way to the central area.

Just remember that every turn you wait, more droids pump into the scenario. Every turn you don't kill more than are produced, your situation worsens. You need to organise for maximum efficiency if you want to win this in a straight military sense.

The walls are far too thick to cut through- it would take about ten minutes at least, impossible under fire.

(Ok, we either need to form up and move out against the hordes of droids, or back up and investigate/locate the possible droid control and shut them down, and we're running out of time.
If we form up, let's put the heavy fighters in the first groups, Andro, Roan, Sunda, etc, maybe mixed with Bodyguarders for a little defence. Those less kill-crazy can bring up the rear.
What sayeth our fear-ress reader?)

I think we should form up, though I'm tempted to suggest the group by the hatch, or at least some of them, keep investigating it.

I don't like putting Roan in the front group, he's taken way too much damage already. Put myself and Xeth up there, along with Andro and Argo, we're practically at full health right now and I can bodyguard Xeth while he grenades everything.

Roan, Sunda, Jelena, Essalin and Denzral can bring up the rear and keep the droids from becoming unmanageable behind us.

That's my 2 cents at least.

(Sounds fine to me. I say let's go for it unless Roan, Jelena or Xeth object.)

I definitely don't mind leading the way with my boomstick.

Shall we go Northwest since I've already cleared out most of those droids?

And I think Vera needs to make the decision on the hatch since they're over there. Do you want to send one or two of you down while the others meet up with us or do we want to abandon it all together? You can't fit everyone.

I'll get going again on the weekend, I think, so be all planned by then!
