"I think we should tell them who we are," Gallagher says to Roan. "Unless... you feel it could be interpreted differently."

"Well, dropping in unexpected on a planet full of pirates and telling them we're Jedi is bold."

Rast is happy to get away from Republic space. He thrives on the fringe of civilization. This place and its distance from Coruscant hits the mark.

He has no opinion on whether they approach as Jedi or as explorers. He is ready either way. He would prefer to hold off on a fight, though, if they can avoid it.

Fine line between bold and stupid.

Bold could mean a lot of things. I think it either means we pretend to be part of their group, like new recruits or whatever, or we be honest but not too honest. Something like 'We are emissaries from the Republic".

Could even mean we should be bold in that we say nothing and just land.

That would be dangerous- you're seeing ground defences on the scanners.

I'm not sure I'm feeling telling them we're Jedi. That seems foolhardy. I'm guessing we just need to be assertive with our interaction, rather than cowing to whatever they demand of us.

You're probably right. I think we need to make them interested in or curious about us, as opposed to scared of us.

"Really only one way to find out," Rast says to the others.

Well, can't just float out here forever! Are we going for it?

We may as well! I'd have liked to have seen input from Roan though before we did.

Wentar will go along with Xeth's thoughts on the matter and just be assertive. He powers up the sublight engines and begins the approach to the planet. Once in range he will open up the comms and attempt to contact whatever appears to be port authority down there.

Andro has forever been glad that he has not once been cursed with a vision from the Force. In his experience, they are far too vague and easy to misinterpret.
"Well, if lying is likely to start a fight and telling them the truth is probably guaranteed to start a fight, let's go with the lie." Andro reasons aloud, then grinning adds, "But be BOLD with the lie. Perhaps, tell them our business is our own and we are not people to be messed with. Which if you think about it, is the truth. From a certain point of view."

Right then guys, game on. You get a curt message from traffic control.

"State your business in this sector."

Whelp! Here is goes!

-

Wentar takes a calming breath before responding. Be bold, he tells himself.

"We are explorers from the Republic seeking artifacts of antiquity," he replies. "Our most recent series of discoveries has lead us to this system in particular. We must land so that we may confirm our findings."

"Are you doing this work here at anyone's request?"

Wentar raps his fingers on the dashboard nervously, a lot is riding on this. He acts confident with his response however.

"Yes, we are."

"Then identify your contact."

(Ah crap, I misinterpreted that one. Thought he was asking if we were an independent group or part of a larger organisation. I don't want to balls things up for the group too much. I'm tempted to act surprised and just say we weren't given any information regarding a contact but told we could come here regardless. Any ideas team?)

(Stick with the story you got. Clarify for him that it's not a contact on the planet, but that we are exploring under direction from an outside entity. The identity is none of their business. Be bold, don't take his crap.)

Would saying we are here on behalf of Lennah be bold or stupid?
