His lightning bolts traveled from the top of Mt. Olympus to Egypt in an "instant" in the novelization of GoW1.

Also, this:

Sora has jumped even higher during his battle against Xemnas.

Probably.

He can also fly.

Can he actually fly in any situation? I'm not entirely clear on that myself, I haven't played the series in a while.

He has one-shotted massive buildings being flung as telekinetic weapons,

Kratos has one-shotted Titans who survived the destruction wrought by the Blade of Olympus, has overpowered beings whom have torn Titans from the walls of Mt. Olympus, and has beaten to death gods, whom have many city destroying and tanking feats.

and deflected a massive volley of "lasers" (although it should be noted that they were not actually moving anywhere near C, and so appeared to be more like particle weapons).

Yes, I know.

Was Kratos ever attacked by this "instant" Lightning bolt? Is the novel even canon to the main god of war universe.
All that interviewer said was "reflexes of a god" and he avoided/parried lightning attacks.

The lightning bolt that Zeus threw to Egypt, are the exact same ones that he throws in the games, which Kratos has to parry with the fleece. Regardless, there's no difference implied anywhere, because Santa Monica calls it all lightning. Whether Zeus is throwing it, or its summoned repeatedly from the sky like Poseidon did against Kratos' ship in Ghost of Sparta, its all just referred to as lightning.

The novels are secondary canon, just like Star Wars EU stuff. It was written with Marianne Krawcyzk's input (she was the main writer for most of the god of war series), so basically, any extra information they give is usable, and any direct plot contradictions and such goes to the main source material unless noted otherwise. That scene described in the novel was extra background stuff that happened sometime during the game's main story.

Uh, yes. The point being that developer confirmed that Kratos can lightning time. The question was in relation to a commercial that shows Kratos dodging lightning, and was asked if that commercial was a valid showing, and the developer validated it by mentioning another case where he had to do something similar.

Also, Zeus' lightning has similarly fast showings within the games, that CC might go get for you if you are nice and give him a BJ.

Novel is canon then?

Yes.

Doesn't that mean anything in it is legit? O.o

Your mother is legit.

Pics or it didn't happen.

So what's the consensus here? That Sora should win? 'cause honestly I think that's what I'm gonna go with.

Go the **** away Moocow.

sora is much faster and his magic is increibly powerful. in final form his speed is tripled and his magic is enhanced. technically sora has defeated hades aswell and at full power his attacks speed and strength is insane. sora also has aeroga do draw in kratos to dish out plenty of damage in a short time. i think sora wins this one becuase if his incredible speed and magic.

Sora unlocks Kratos's heart after Sora uses the Stop spell.

Prove it. God of War has dozens of different lightning attacks all labelled as lightning, everything from slow little bolts, beams, to heavily choreographed charge attacks....

You can never prove the one he did there was exactly the same.

Also, couldn't the Gods open gateways from Olmypus to Earth to send things through without having to physically throw it from the mountain? I could be wrong on that point but I could have sworn at some point during the games a portal was opened.

Now that last part as far as I know is right but it is a fixed gate so Unless I am wrong it only goes to Hades and connects with Aphrodite's (however it is spelled) bedroom

There was no gate described. Zeus' lightning has both in-novel and in-game been calculated in the mach 5,000 range. Kratos also dodged a lightning bolt in the trailer for God of War 2, and the developers have outright stated Kratos is able to dodge lightning. You lose.

I would love to see the Devs actually say "Kratos can dodge "at" lightning speed", I mean anyone can aim dodge a choreographed attack so ime guessing its just massive reaching.

Also a gate does not have to be described if its a known way for the Gods to send things distances, even if this is not the case, that's fair enough but you cant prove this lightning attack is the same as anything Kratos has faced before, and by faced I mean reacted to. He got blown off Gaia (defenceless like a newborn whelp may I add) by the only true lightning blast I recall Zeus using.

If I said the word "FactPile" would that mean anything to you? :hmm
