This?
That doesn't put him at nearly the speeds required to react to mach three to five thousand, Kratos's reaction-time.
I guess I will throw you a bone and prove the speed of Zeus's lightning... Again.
This is an excerpt from the God of War novel, the author working closely with and being licensed by Sony to create a novelization of the first game.

According to this, the distance between Crete, the closest part of Greece to Egypt, and Egypt, is over a thousand kilometers. Zeus fired it from the top of Mount Olympus, to somewhere in Egypt.
Assuming that an "instant" refers to a full second, and it probably doesn't, well, let's do the math.
1,043 divided by 1 is 1,043 kilometers per second. Or 1,043,000 meters per second. Nearly mach 3,048. I am guessing this isn't what you were expecting? That isn't even taking into account that Zeus was on top of Mount Olympus when this was done, meaning it would have had to travel further than if their altitude was the same. Or that IIRC Mount Olympus is not in Crete. So basically, this is in fact a lowball of what the speed of Zeus's lightning is.
In fact, **** couches, I am now going to do this calc again, only I will compound this by taking the IRL Mount Olympus's height into account.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Olympus
Here we see that Mount Olympus's highest peak is 2.917 kilometers high. This will come into play later. I should mention that God of War's Mount Olympus is much, much larger than the real one.
Now, because I am apparently too incompetent to operate any kind of map site, I will pretend Mount Olympus is in Crete, when it is nowhere near Crete, much further away from Egypt than that.
All right, to get the distance between this imaginary Olympus in Crete and Egypt, we must turn to the Pythagorean Theorum, aka, a squared times b squared equals c squared.
In this case, the a being the distance between Crete and Egypt, and the b being the height of Mount Olympus.
1,043.43 squared is 1,088,746.1649, and 2.917 squared is 8.508889. Multiply these both together and you get 9264020.266309796. Now, the square root of that ridiculous number is, after cutting away some bullshit decimal points, about 3,043.7 kilometers per second. Or, 3,043,700 meters per second. Or, to phrase it another way, mach 8,952.
Whoa.
And do note this is just from me mathing it while including the height of IRL Mount Olympus, I shudder at what the result will be the horizontal location of Mt. Olympus is taken into account (Perhaps by CosmicComet). Though really, I just need a number to work it.
Hey look I just provided evidence of the speed of Zeus's bolts.
There is of course more, but this is a decent start.
Also: Please provide equivelant showings of Sora's strength versus Kratos's, and provide reasoning for why they are equal.
I hope you enjoy mach 8,000+ Kratos.

Well I suppose. If there has to be one.
mmm Sora's clearly overcompensating for something with those huge boots of his.

Dude. Why the f*** are you multiplying 'a' and 'b'? You're supposed to add them.
Still, Mach 8900+ Lightning. vin
