In all honesty Thanos would suffer the same fate as Darkseid if it was he going up against Superman...For a long, long, time it didnt matter who Supes faced...that opponent would job out of DC based neccessity to Superman atleast once...even COIE Anti-Monitor (who really should have been able to sneeze Supes away; even weakened) jobbed to Superman.

My stance is that Thanos would have suffered the same fate as Darkseid IF it was he facing Superman in DC comics instead of Darkseid; Thanos would have been beaten to the ground by the Man of Steel and been made to call him master...atleast once at some point.
