KMC Title Belt Championship Battlezone

Started by abhilegend49 pages

So existere, when do we start?

So hey, another question, do the combatants know who the other picked once both are approved? It matters for the debate, because it's more time to prep for a specific opponent. Or will they not know until the battle is made?

For my own two cents, I think it should be announced. Otherwise, once we have a belt-holder, he's at a SEVERE disadvantage, because his opponent can create a writeup and strategy specifically to take him out, while the champion can't even speculate until the match opens.

Also, is there a post limit/time limit? There should be both, imo.

I know for this match at least, there are going to be no prep or write-ups. The matches themselves last 14 days, so I think the only way that a belt holder gets screwed in the current set up is by being counter-picked.

I know there are a lot of belts, but if all goes well, some could become particularly popular to compete for. I think if there are multiple people vying for one belt, then they should compete and then battle the belt holder at the end, all while keeping the same character.

Anyways, I'm fine to start whenever Abhi. I've got a couple friends staying with me until the weekend, so I probably won't have time to post much until next week, but I don't mind starting soon and making up for lost time come next week.

I'm more curious about what you think we should choose for a battlefield. I think it should be somewhere exciting, set a tone for the first major KMC Belt Championship bout.

I'd like to think for the first bouts, it should be anonymous so both participants go in not knowing what to expect. After a champion has been crowned, since it would then be public knowledge who said champion is as well as the character they're representing, any title bout matches should reveal the challenger and character drafted as soon as said pick is agreed upon. That way the champion can prepare accordingly as they are essentially stuck defending the same character until they lose.

I also think the champion should get the option to pick the battlezone if they so choose, provided the judges/hosts agree upon it. Nothing game breaking, obviously.

I'd also like to think that once we have our first few champions, we can open up contender rankings with a Number 1 Contender, Number 2 Contender, and so on. The champion should also specifically choose to defend the title at any time if he/she wants to.

I'd also like to see a Tag Team division open up eventually as well.

This point could make or brake this battlezone. It's the only area I see as a weak link. For this battlezone they will not know until I make the thread. The matches last 14 days from the 1st thread open day.

I think once a champ has to defend his belt , he would be told of the challengers character once approved. Then it's up to the champ when he defends it.

Champs will auto carry belt for 1 month before having to defend it. Once challenged they have 2 weeks at most to prepare for the challenger.

Edit : As per jake's idea ( tag team titles) , I think this would be good to draw in newer debaters. Maybe 1 person is good with write up's while the other is good with scans. Together they make a lethal combo. Think this will draw a lot.

to be honest, high herald will be lame AF as it'll just be a speed argument with little true risk involved, and of coarse the winner of any of those arguments will be whomever grabs flash, superman, etc first.

low-meta will be the one to compete in.

I appreciate your concern, but I assure you that will not be the case at all. This battlezone is yet in it's infant stages. So I don't think it's fair to assume anything. Especially when there are 2 or more skilled debaters competing. Characters are always changing power set wise and characters can have limitations as you will see on our 1st match.

Edit : I have my sig guy already prepping for the trophy.

You seem to have my concerns covered, so gj.

I'm just trying to think if there's anyone who, de facto, should never lose in their own category. And it's hard to say. For example, Surfer is generally considered the class of HH, but there's other who can take him down, especially in the hands of a good debater. So it should work out ok.

Anyway, PM me when the match goes up. I like the picks and I'm excited to see

Spoiler:
Megatron
and
Spoiler:
Paste Pot Pete
go at it.

Spoiler:
You thought I would reveal them?

😊

No need for a pm. I'm sure you'll be watching . 😖hifty:

So, next week it is.

Great we're all looking forward to this. You two will make KMC history , good luck to you both.

Also, ( Id) has made a challenge for the High Herald belt and has chosen a character. He awaits a challenger as per this moment he is 1# ranked HH in KMC.

Another thing guy's I'm ok with having multiple title belt battlezones at the same time. So don't feel as if you have to wait for matches to be over.

It should be a battlefield composed entirely of the denim from Wolverine's jeans, IMO.

On another note: do we know the specific day this is set to begin? I only ask because I don't usually frequent this forum unless I have a reason to...

can you choose someone from a category other than high herald to battle for the high herald belt? the boundaries are sort of amorphous so some overlap seems natural. and if i chose someone from the mid herald/low herald to go for the high herald, could that SAME character be used to defend a low/mid herald title match? for example--if i chose gladiator (not in a million years, but for the sake of discussion) and won, could he also be used in the mid herald? many think him low herald, so could he be used there as well? and what if i chose the same guy id chose? would we BOTH use that character? if you say know, that gives me the advantage of knowing who he has.....

just random thoughts. 🙂

Don's been running the picks by judges, so if that continues, I suppose the answer is "yes" depending on those involved. It would be unlikely but possible.

Who thinks him low herald though? He seems a pretty uncontroversial mid, no?

This is Don's rodeo, but I personally feel that characters should not be allowed in more than one tier. For instance, if the judges agree that Gladiator is a mid-herald character, then that is where he should [always] stay.

I also believe that if both contestants choose the same character, they should be made to promptly redraft. I would want no part in judging a Surfer vs. Surfer thread, lol.

I don't have a start date I'll pm you as soon as I do. But do your thing don't feel married to this if you're busy I'll get a reserve judge to take your place until you're back.

I'll get back to you on that. Have to give it some thought.

could be, but that sorta limits the high herald class of characters because really, there are not very many of them that could be unequivocally placed in that category. just wondering.

and digi, i'd say glads fits low or mid herald. i'd certainly take MANY mid heralds over him in a battle and there are a few in the low herald tier that can beat him as well--firestorm, cassie nova, bizzarro, death metal just to name some. obviously the tier thread is not perfect and the character needs to be voted on. it seems like choosing someone from a lower tier SHOULD be allowed to compete for a belt that is above them, is all i'm saying.

I am still available to judge, I was just curious when I need to start checking this forum for the match. No worries. 🙂
