Why is Fantastic 4 being re-booted?

I've heard News that they're re-booting Fantastic 4, but I really don't understand why. Why is it being re-booted?

Because there is a comic book craze in Hollywood right now and they want to make money. Same reason they just remade Spiderman.. same reason they've redone Batman a million times, etc..

I actually quite liked them. I thought they were fine films! But they weren't very dark compeared to most superhero films these days.

Because if FOX doesn't make Fantastic Four movies, the movie rights revert to Marvel. It's the same reason there is a Daredevil reboot coming. They need to perpetually make movies for theses franchises every couple of years or Marvel can take them back.

The Fantastic Four films are absolute shit, and deserve a reboot. X-men, especially.

Doctor Doom is one of the greatest villains in all of comic book lore, and they turned him into a cheesy one liner spewing throwaway dork. Silver Surfer was also gimped beyond forgiveness.
