For me the tone was a problem, in that the film didn't seem to know what it was. I went with a friend and he told me that during the whole Reed and Sue working in the lab bit, he felt like he was watching some romantic comedy. And the first part of the film has this Super 8 kind of feel. Then it's happy fun lab times. But then later it's this scifi horror atmosphere when they get mutated with their powers. Then when Reed is on the run it's this kind of spy thing? And then only the last 20 minutes or so even remotely feels like a comic book superhero movie. I don't know. To me that movie was just absolutely all over the place in tone and what it was trying to be. And then I also found myself distracted by Sue's constantly changing hair, literally from shot to shot in some stages, courtesy of them doing several re-shoots months after the original shooting stage. And don't even get me started on Doom. What a shit movie.
Truth be told, I'm sick of the "superhero" s**t. Every other movie is a superhero movie! How much is too much anyway? There was a time when I was high on such movies, not anymore though. As for FF, I liked the animated TV series better than the movie. What a super crappy movie! 😘 If only Fox could give me my time and money back...sigh...
