That's not canon. Thanos has been able to manipulate space, time, reality-- so yes he could fly or do whatever he wanted to with reality. Unlike many characters his mind makes all these things possible. Flying is so pedestrian in comics.

Marvel decides what's canon for Thanos not Starlin. Starlin can't just do whatever he wants. There's a process.

He retconed a lot of events for Thanos, so a lot of his losses don't count because it was a "clone"
