It's a shame they used Ryan Reynolds as GL, he sucked at that; he'd would have likely made a decent Flash with his trademark dry-humor and quick quips.

That isn't the Flash, though. Bar the cartoon, anyway. The one in the cartoon was basically Plastic Man's personality in Flash's body.

How much Blame can the fail of th GL be placed at his feet?

One of the biggest problems with Green Lantern was the story...

The biggest problem was everybody who was associated with the movie losing faith mid-production.

A shitty story could have been part of the cause.

agreed.. Hal should have had a much better story and parallax should not have been a smoke monster

I had an argument with some guy the other day as to why they even need to have epic supervillains in origin stories for Superheroes.

Seriously. GL had enough on it's plate with OA and the other GLs. He could've just caught bank robbers and learnt how to deal with the ring then helped fend off a random invasion attempt on a small planet.

Paralax and that scientist was just overboard.

Fantastic Four fell into the same trap. That family would've been fine if it was a comedy involving the family and Reeds wacky experiments. Doom pushed it over the edge. The film should've dealt with Victor being jealous of Reeds accomplishments and using the occult and science to try and beat him. And the fight could've eventuated in the second film. It would've been great.

But FOX suck.

I like cartoon-Flash; groups need a comedic output.

F**k that idea. Joss Whedon wasn't good enough for them, so they'll hire him?

Which is why I'm a pro-Wally West kind of guy. When he was Flash all those decades instead of Barry Allen, you had the closest thing to a Peter Parker-type character at DC. Barry may be a Silver age classic, but he's very bland by comparison. Wally & John Stewart really helped change the dynamic for the cartoon series.

Wow! And it's still a mystery to some why Batman is only commercial success DC/WB has produced.

Then bring in Plastic Man. Or Green Arrow.

I would rather have Wally in the movie, but an accurate Wally at that.

Jesus, just ignore Mark Millar when he talks to the press about movie projects. How many times has he been wrong so far? Stick to writing for Marvel and shut yer gobber, you attention whore.

facepalm

Who the hell thought this was a good idea? Uggh.

Ryan Reynolds will be expected to reprise his role as Green Lantern, and the events that transpired in his film - although they won't be ignored in the Justice League Movie, they won't be acknowledged either. It will sort of be hints to his backstory, and the character will be more serious than in the solo film (more like how he was towards the end of the film).

No. Please god no.

Ryan was a decent Hal imo; with a better script I could see him being great

Any future touching of Green Lantern in movies needs a full or partial reboot. Parallax was ruined, and the rings became reality warping devices instead of just being able to make solid constructs. That can't be used as precedent for future films.

IMo

70% was the story. It had so many problems. For an origin story, it seemed to have too much going on. Oa and the Corps. Two villain syndrome. Hal and Carol. Galactus-cloud villain easily soloed. Under whelming use of the the Green Lantern ring. Odd humor if any at all.

20% casting. Blake Lively is dull as hell. Reynolds was NOT Hal in the least bit. He was awesome as Deadpool even with the 5 minute screen time he got. He's not a believable Hal at all. Bale was more Bruce Wayne and Batman that Reynolds a believable Jordan.

10% special effects. There are some amazing stuff in this movie but it has some of the worse use of CGI. Most of that money went into Hal's costume in seems and it wasn't all that needed really. It's like Transformers CGI designs. Don't these people understand simplicity? I would rather they tone down the CGI designs in order to extend show time of the other GL members. The GL's looked cool but so detailed that it probably cost too much money to give them further appearance time than what was shown. Parallax was terribly designed tho. Not much thought and no true resemblance to his comic appearance: transformers design syndrome.

Marvel has Kevin Feige, Joss Wheddon, John Favreau, Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Avi Arad, etc. involved in their projects. What does DC have? This JLA projects looks like a reaction to Marvel's billion dollar hit. Not sure if they're trying hard enough and caring enough to put together a JLA good movie.
