IMo70% was the story. It had so many problems. For an origin story, it seemed to have too much going on. Oa and the Corps. Two villain syndrome. Hal and Carol. Galactus-cloud villain easily soloed. Under whelming use of the the Green Lantern ring. Odd humor if any at all.
20% casting. Blake Lively is dull as hell. Reynolds was NOT Hal in the least bit. He was awesome as Deadpool even with the 5 minute screen time he got. He's not a believable Hal at all. Bale was more Bruce Wayne and Batman that Reynolds a believable Jordan.
10% special effects. There are some amazing stuff in this movie but it has some of the worse use of CGI. Most of that money went into Hal's costume in seems and it wasn't all that needed really. It's like Transformers CGI designs. Don't these people understand simplicity? I would rather they tone down the CGI designs in order to extend show time of the other GL members. The GL's looked cool but so detailed that it probably cost too much money to give them further appearance time than what was shown. Parallax was terribly designed tho. Not much thought and no true resemblance to his comic appearance: transformers design syndrome.
Marvel has Kevin Feige, Joss Wheddon, John Favreau, Stan Lee, Joe Quesada, Avi Arad, etc. involved in their projects. What does DC have? This JLA projects looks like a reaction to Marvel's billion dollar hit. Not sure if they're trying hard enough and caring enough to put together a JLA good movie.
I don't know why you think Reynolds was a bad Hal. For me, the scenes where he's just "Hal being Hal" were probably the highlight of the movie. He fit the character perfectly.

Nothing. He's a little stiff, but then imo that wasn't the character Reynolds portrayed on screen. He was just Ryan Reynolds with a GL ring.
What do you mean by stiff? I think I disagree, but just want to be sure...

He is kinda Old. But taking into accoutn what they were able to do with Hellboy/Ron Pearlman it could be done...but I don't see that kind of Love or attention being put into the LOBO movie that Hellboy's crew gave it.
Plus is also helps Del Toro also likes the more monster type superhero's
DC should try and get him to do Etrigan.
