Ares isn't beating namor based on a few bad showings. Namor has worse feats than these, but his good feats far outweights his bad.

IMHO, yes. The most recent showings are the ones that count because that's where the company/editors/wrtiers see the character. To make things worse, this is a MAJOR crossover so it's not like some noob writer is handling this.

So Namor would have to have a really decent or awesome showing later on in this arc or in another title to conversely wipe away his showings against Ben and Cage?

That's certainly your prerogative if you choose to look at it that way, though I ultimately disagree.

Nope, it's too late for that. Unless it's somehow explained later that he was depowered or Cage/Thing were being amped somehow, it's pretty much over for Namor.
