The level is 26. Difficulty appears hard to me because I'm 24. (**** you bungie)

No problem I have more if you need help. Also I think my average points per game lately has been around 4K to 5K for control.

I also have my bad games but being able to win mid range battles is pretty key this game, or being really good at only attacking someone when they get close and not giving them the chance to go farther out.

I think right now the bane of my existence for my build are great Fusion rifle users cause they hit the in-between close and mid range distance where I cannot kill someone quickly while they can. I think the best counter to the Fusion Rifle imo is a good Auto Rifle cause you can unload on them before they get a chance to charge up. Of course I have not tested that theory yet.

Sniper rifle is also good at key points on certain maps. First Light is one, Bastion I think is the other.

And glad you are enjoying the game more!

lol no offence taken. I do tend to have bad reaction time. If someone gets the first shot off its rare I get the kill but I do alright. When I first played this game(including the beta) I was terrible. I couldn't get kills point blank with a shotgun lol now after a lot of practice I have snipped people out of vehicles. Thing is with my class...once I come back from the dead I get full health and a "sun shield" that gives me huge damage soak for the duration. I have ran straight at people before and just let them empty a clip into me without dying and getting the single shot melee kill. I did that once to a guy in rumble and he was in the lead by about 1000 points but as soon as I did that he quit out lol.

Anyways I feel I have rambled off lol. From what you're saying I bet those players are using Scout Rifles. If you have great accuracy and are a fast shot its the best weapon ever. Double tap to the head and its over. It also might depend on the perks your weapon offer. A friend of mine got a primary that does extra damage per bullet once he gets to the last half of the clip. I just got a new primary that straightens out the longer its fired.

I think the health is all right in this game. At least people drop faster than they did in Halo.

The best advice Dadude can be given is to stay close to his team mates. That was the #1 rule in Halo, and it is still part of Bungie's gameplan IMHO.

Also by staying close to team mates you can gain advantage from passives that affect cooldowns etc(Sunsinger)

I think the Scout Rifle is ass. Fires too slow to be reliable IMHO. Been seeing much more Fusion users, they're getting kind of annoying but I still trust my sniper.

Thank you for the feedback. I feel this thread is more friendly and better set up for genuine advice than any place I have looked (including IGN forums).

I was really hoping this game came out on the PC because my aim is much better with a keyboard and mouse than on a console (compared to other players that is).

Of course it is!

I'm also stuck at 24 right now until I get some better armor with light. Which means I need legendary items now.

Just when I thought I was gonna be a 21, the progress bar stops. Apparently I'm short a pair of gauntlets with light in them I can't find. A shooter that halts your progression because you're short a specific armor piece. Someone at Bungie needs a swift kick in the nads. Seriously.

Destiny = MMO structured missions/world/social(poorly might I add) with Halo gameplay and Diabloesque grinding/rewards.

Its the grinding/luck based rewards that annoy.

Game reminds me a lot of Phantasy Star Online, moreso than any other game, to be honest. Just the way it's structured.

No team speak = disappointment.

I've seen many compare them, yes.

I never played PSO tho so I wouldn't know.

Agreed. Things like this is where Bungie failed big time. For a game that Bungie took pride on "Social interactions" They went out of their way to limit such things. No chat. No matchmaking for weekly strikes. No proximity voice. I mean really?

So the raids been completed for the first time...

By three 28's, one 27, and two 26's. They averaged around a thousand kills each with a 4.0 KD. Thats around 6000 enemies. I killed around 900 in a playthrough of RE4, and I doubt I've killed 1000 enemies in the entire game of Destiny so far. Holy shit, I am unprepared.

I think they died over 1600 times O_O lol

Yo Neme wanna do some strikes?

I just managed to get a legendary helmet. I almost have enough light for level 25 now!!!

IT CANNOT BE THIS F'N HARD FINDING GAUNTLETS WITH A SLIVER OF LIGHT!

How the **** are you all getting these fkn legendary items? I swear I've played a lot in about 3 days, but no.

What the actual ****? They need to rethink the reward/loot system because it is fkn awful.

I was just farming one of the moon missions until I got some purple drops. I also got a legendary pair of Warlock boots but those don't help me.

Yeah. I've been farming too. Just got 1 purple drop once. And it all turned into useless shit I don't need.

I mean...ok I get the fact they are supposed to be rare, but having a purple engram(which is rare as ****) turn into shit after hours of farming is the most disappointing feeling ever. The game has like 3 dices of RNG against you. And even when you do finally get a legendary item it turns out to be for another class. WTF?

Just makes me want to quit.

Having said that I'm not quitting. I'm stubborn like that which means this love/hate relationship between me, Bungie and Destiny is only going to grow.

You can sorta tell Bungie is new to this whole "loot" thing. Making rookie mistakes that other devs made recently in another game (Diablo III) but fixed. Bungie shoulda implemented a smart loot system like D3 now has.

I got on for a short time tonight and my friend showed me a farming spot on the strike mission for Venus. I got my first ever Legendary Engram, opened it, and got a legendary helmet for my hunter. I was prepared for the disappointment of opening it and getting a stupid uncommon or something too. I go to sleep happy tonight.

There is a cave of non stopped enemies on earth. Stay far enough back from the cave and they just keep coming out. I got like 20 greens, 10 blues, and a few purples.

Once you get to the cosmodrome go to the far left....the very far left where there is a building. Work your way through the building and get back outside. The cave is to the left side straight ahead. You will probably see others doing it. When I did it there was like 5 other people doing it so you should see it.

Once at the cave though stay back a little ways because if you're too close they wont spawn. In fact if they are spawning kinda slowly then you are a little too close. Once you run out of ammo just run into the cave, get your drops, pick up your ammo(which should be covering the cave floor) and repeat. It is the best place to farm because the enemies are only lvl 5s and the drops scale to your level.
