I got on for a short time tonight and my friend showed me a farming spot on the strike mission for Venus. I got my first ever Legendary Engram, opened it, and got a legendary helmet for my hunter. I was prepared for the disappointment of opening it and getting a stupid uncommon or something too. I go to sleep happy tonight.
I hate you. I've been farming on that spot for days now and no FKN dice.

So got another purple engram and it gave me the same fkn rifle I have. FML.

**** THIS SHIT.

Zack, calm down man.

Easy to say when you just got your legendary scout rifle called Nemesis to boot, man. uhuh

Look I'm all for grinding, but only when I feel it is worth the time and effort. Right now it feels like a giant pile of bullshit.

If I don't get a legendary by the weekend I'm going to stop trying and playing. I'm not going to waste countless hours to get shit in return.

Zack's gonna burn down Bungie HQ

I might. 131

Im just got rank three in the Dead Orbit and I got a purple fusion in the mail as a reward!

<^>

I think I found Zack Fair's predicament in a nutshell.

YouTube video

lol Just trying to get the word out so people would know getting rep is worth it. I got one actual purple drop. A pair of boots. I got my rank up to level 2 in the cult im in (dead orbit) and now I can just use crucible marks to buy my gear. It might be worth it instead of trying to rely on random drops. Might get them faster...plus a random purple in the mail at the tower once you hit a certain rank.

But I hate all the factions. I want to be able to shoot them in the head.

I went with Dead Orbit.

I thought about it. Saw an armband that says it would trade all vanguard and crucible marks into Dead Orbit rep. I bought it, but then realized I was almost there in crucible rep. Will use it after I get an armor from the crucible quarter master lol.

I've thought about doing on the factions the only problem is I hate all of their marks and the way they look on my titan. Yes that is right I am refusing to join faction because I do not like the accessories 😛

Also a great farming spot is to take on the first mission on the moon. Play it until you get to the cutscene where you find the dead guardian and the hive doors open and you get rushed by a ton of Hive. You kill everyone but the Hive Knight and then you let yourself die. You respawn right at that point and winse and repeat.

I did it on level 20 difficulty and I think I managed somewhere around 8 blue drops alot of greens and two purple drops in an hour. I went back and did it a second time for another hour. I didn't get any purples that time but I did still get a lot of blues.

Also upgrade you Cryptography rank cause at level 4 and 5 I got messages for legendary packages that gave me two purple engrams.

You can sorta tell Bungie is new to this whole "loot" thing. Making rookie mistakes that other devs made recently in another game (Diablo III) but fixed. Bungie shoulda implemented a smart loot system like D3 now has.

I didn't know they updated this. How does D3's "smart loot" system work differently?

There is a cave of non stopped enemies on earth. Stay far enough back from the cave and they just keep coming out. I got like 20 greens, 10 blues, and a few purples.

Once you get to the cosmodrome go to the far left....the very far left where there is a building. Work your way through the building and get back outside. The cave is to the left side straight ahead. You will probably see others doing it. When I did it there was like 5 other people doing it so you should see it.

Once at the cave though stay back a little ways because if you're too close they wont spawn. In fact if they are spawning kinda slowly then you are a little too close. Once you run out of ammo just run into the cave, get your drops, pick up your ammo(which should be covering the cave floor) and repeat. It is the best place to farm because the enemies are only lvl 5s and the drops scale to your level.

Thank you.

Thank you thank you thank you...

First useful tip I have seen. All the bullshit on IGN is just that: bullshit. They give tips that anyone would already know from playing the game.

Another good place to farm is on the Devil's Lair strike.

I think if you look up Destiny Devil's Lair run you should get a video detailing everything.

Me too! I like the black and white color scheme. Right now im using my yellow and green shader but once I get my helm(last purp I need for my armor) im just going to go black and white! I'll probably get my helm next week because it costs 120 crucible marks and 100 is the weekly max.

lol No problem! I would recommend that everyone tries this spot at least once. because you kill so many enemies and only need to stop to get more ammo. Its like shooting fish in a barrel....fish that never stop spawning that is...

I wish there was tons more, like 100 times more, stuff to purchase with the general currency in the game. Farming equipment and selling it, then, would make it much more fun. Nothing like saving up for an awesome and useful purchase in a game like this. It gives you "dat feel" of accomplishment especially if that item had high utility.

In fact, I think they should do that to the legendary items: make it to where you can purchase them for tons (100k) of glimmer to buy a legendary weapon. Perhaps not the exotic but definitely the legendary.

They also need to make a factional "war front" system similar to Chrome Hounds. Basically, make it to where there is an actual war-front with your ships and on the ground (because your ships have weapons and armor n'shit) and make it to where the players can actually conquer and defeat the enemies to reclaim humanity's lost territories. Make it to where participants get good stuff. Make it to where the Guardians can elect leaders and give those leaders flag ships from which the Guardian's little ships launch (and give the flag ships massive weapons and shields).

IMO, this would not be that big of an update (my battle front suggestion). Also, if players did not beat back the enemy factions, they could claim some territories, again. They could work on balancing it if it gets too easy.

Also, I really really think ship warfare is incoming in this game, soon. No way they would give those ships weapons and stats without planning for space or atmospheric battles. 🙂

All that stuff will be cool and I do hope some of those ideas do get put into the game.

Axiom! Axiom! Holy crap I can understand why Zack Fair was so mad at this.
