Though really, I guess I'm not as much a Scorpion fan as I used to be due to overexposure, and for him being Quan Chi's lapdog in MK9 instead of hunting him down like in Deadly Alliance, but he is one of those characters mostly anyone can get to like easily, even if they're not much of an MK fan, so I think he'll be well-received as DLC. He's the most iconic MK character for a reason.

I agree entirely. Before the game released I remember watching an interview that NR said they wanted to show people that they could make a fighting game and it would be nothing like MK....or something like that.
because adding Scorpion really proves that point.....
I got the season pass so i'll download him and do his classic battle for the ending but I think its terrible that NR did this to their fans. I'll never use him online.

Never complained about Scorpion. I like him being in the game. Doesn't make any sense, but hey neither did Freddy and I liked him. And I agree with the added gameplay elements. I like them too, although I've only played the demo. Will eventually get this game to play with my homies when we're drinking and stuff.

I'm downloading Scorpion, but I still feel adding him when there are over 100 DC characters for them to choose from is an uninspired choice and that the backlash against him is completely justified.
I mean how many fighting games have Scorpion playable in them? Around 9. The last game being released just two years ago and is still going on strong. NRS next game is most likely MK10 which is guaranteed to have Scorpion.
Now how many fighting games are there that have Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Zatanna, Swamp Thing etc playable? None. That's one thing I give Freddy credit for. He had never been in a fighting game and MK9 was the first time you could ever play as him in a video game. Not to mention he's much more popular/iconic than Scorpion.
If they had to put in a guest character, it could have been a Watchmen character instead.

I'm glad everyone is getting buttmad over Scorpion taking over one slot when so many of Batman's product placed friends and foes gladly diminished any chances for any characters we actually wanted in a game that's supposed to be a blend of so many different heroes and villains throughout DC's long, proud history but became more than 1/3 of Arkham City. Let's also not forget one of them being downloadable. Of course I'm talking about Barbara. You know, the girl even Ed Boon acknowledged was handicapped but threw her in anyway for the hell of it? Even though she's got the move set that puts Batman himself to shame, she is completely unnecessary but she's DC. Of course you fanboys won't tackle that so much and will just comment she's cheap and move on but now that Scorpion of all guests joins the roster, you're gonna open your flippers up like a gangsta penguin and strut up to Ed Boon like he's some ******* seal you'll tolerate no more and again, this is just one character we're talking about. Granted we could've had another DC character but remembering who picks the characters, who's to say we wouldn't get Talia Al Ghul next?
I doubt that anyone here cares about Batgirl she was just as unnecesary as Scorpion or Zod....problem is that most people on other sites know DC only because of Batman and they keep braging about Red Hood and Poison Ivy so I can still see some upcoming Batman characters which I really dont like the idea of....I didnt buy Batgirl might buy Scorpion though...
The Bat swag needs to end. Did we not have the Justice League, Static Shock, and Zeta Project cartoons for a reason as we grew up? It can't just be Batman and Superman alone that's got everybody interested in the DC Universe. I actually didn't discover DC until I read a few issues of Swamp Thing back when I was little. Would NetherRealm really lose the interest from all consumers everywhere if they excluded a bunch of the dark knight's peeps and go bankrupt over it? They know they're appealing to comic book readers, right? While I know Injustice is a videogame and games are targeted towards gamers and all those gamers no doubt watched Nolan's films and play Rocksteady's Arkham series but come on. Even they can't be crazy enough to shun developers for not throwing in Catwoman and we REALLY don't need her.
