A work acquaintance of mine completely unfamiliar with comics has a relative that works for a digital animation company contracted to mo-cap and animate the GotG teaser. Apparently, the teaser features Thanos speaking some dialogue and, more importantly, is played by Josh Brolin.

Other details accompanied the story that my source was not comfortable sharing on [...] for fear of getting in trouble with the powers that be. But they definitely added credibility.

Obviously everyone will be taking this with a metric ton of salt and leaks like this are a dime a dozen, but I've no reason to not believe the story's source. Just promise me you'll be back to heap karma on me after the movie comes out and I'm right.

Yeah if we could go back about 90 years ago. James is simply too old for anything other than voice acting when it comes to Super Heroics.

About Brolin as Thanos, as long as they tweak his voice to make it sound menacing...I'll be okay with it. God this movie can't come soon enough!

The real benefit of hiring Brolin comes in his acting ability. He can act imposing, intimidating and powerful. The voice doesn't matter too much

I'm thinking they'll do the same motion capture with Brolin that they did with Rufallo.

Oh no, the voice DOES matter. A lot. Voice is going to play a lot into how imposing and intimidating Thanos will be.

Well yeah, he can't sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. His normal voice should work fine, as long as he can pull off the acting bit.

Bringing out the big dogs, the top of the food chain cosmics sounds great.
Also makes sense if they are going for the Infinity Gauntlet type story.

FUQ Sony for not trading Silver Surfer & Galactus for the daredevil rights, or actually for making a shitty movie in order to keep the FF rights.
