There aren't that many great comic-book movies out there, and even Avengers' reviews are THAT good.

Anything's possible, but if it's like what the trailers portrayed, then I doubt it.
I've personally got zero excitement for this franchise, but to each his own.

The Dark Knight also has better reviews, and Batman Begins/Dark Knight Rises land around the same. Slightly less % at Rotten and higher at metacritic.
I don't see how hype factors in more with GOTG than it did with the Avengers?
The Avengers has a fan darling director attached to it, a larger marketing budget, more famous actors and a series of movies hyping it up.

I meant I doubt I will enjoy it anywhere near as much as Avengers. Doesn't seem my kind of movie. Has too much of the IM3 Vibe.
And screw critics! Critics praised IM3 and Superman Returns so I largely ignore them.
As for hype, your misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm saying hype is at it's peak when a movie first comes out. And yes you're right the hype of GOTG does not compare at all to the initial hype of Avengers. Thing is though, Avengers kept it's name as one of the best comic book movies of all time. Will see if GOTG does that even a few months from now.

Personally, I thought it was pretty awesome.
Spoiler:Really funny, good action, Ronan was Dark and looming and helped balance the silliness of the main characters. All in all I think Cap was the "Better" movie, but this was more fun from start to finish. 8.5/10
We actually SEE Thanos! in "action" he doesn't really do much except look really imposing and threatening while sitting in his Throne...obviously he does talk a bit too....still cool.
