STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Bannermen

This fish, can I see gills? How much Force power would it take to drage the giant fish thing, back through the water to drown it?

You haven't actually seen the creature yet!

You scuttle over to one of the ledges on the crevasse walls and press yourself down into the mud just as the monster rises from the depths. You are immediately certain that it would take every last bit of your ability to touch the Force to strangle this thing. It is HUGE, and well-armored with a layer of blue-green shimmering scales. Underneath the scales, massive muscles ripple. It drives itself through the water aggressively with its great fins, disturbing the mud around you and obscuring your vision momentarily.

For lack of a better description, you have encountered an undersea dragon.

Kriff! I wasn't expecting a sea-serpent!

I am not even sure how I'd go about fighting this thing.

Denzral will try to be evasive and stay low, even though he can't see. How would he reckon a lightsabre would fare against such a creature?

Well, it's a lightsaber... you would imagine it would fare pretty well against most things.

The mud starts to settle, and with the Ohura now above you, it will be only moments until it finds you.

Will this be like regular combat? Blasters work underwater right (they do according to TCW)?

Denzral will settle his feet in position and prepare to fight the creature with his lightsabre.

In this game, so long as you have time to prep and the Fix-It skill, I will allow it. Normally, your lightsaber and blaster would be useless underwater. You already took care of all that though.

And this will be regular combat! Even though the beast is enormous, you can still fight it.

Standing up and igniting your lightsaber certainly gets the Ohura's attention. The blue blade snaps into existence and emits a steady stream of bubbles as the superheated plasma contacts the ocean water. It roars and begins making its way toward you...

Please choose which schticks you want to start with.

BLADE SCHTICKS --
ORTHODOX GUARD
RIPOSTE
REFLECTION

COMBAT SCHTICKS --
IMPERVIOUS
FEINT
MARTIAL ART

Would Combat Schticks be usable with a Lightsabre? i.e can I use Impervious with; ORTHODOX GUARD, RIPOSTE? Reflection is going to come about as being pretty useless now, unless it breath bolts of electricity.

In any event, right now I want my three blade schticks (<<what is a schtick?) in please.

Blade Schticks go with saber, Combat with all other melee. That being said, the Force power Swiftness lets you ignite and extinguish your saber as a free action, so you could switch to Combat for a turn if needed.

Indeed, Reflection will be fairly useless here. Not every fight will be against blaster-wielding soldiers.

The Ohura starts closing in rapidly! It moves fluidly through the water, almost gracefully, with his jaws wide and full of sharp pointy teeth. Do you swim out to meet it or let it come to you?

I'll stay quite low, and let it come to me. If it misses me it can hit the sea-bed if it charges.

You take initiative... so sitting still did you no favors this time.

It certainly does slam into the ledge you found purchase on. It deliberately misses you and relies on its girth to send you sprawling. It only rolls two successes, for 6 damage. Only one 6, though, so you recover from impact quickly.

Its dice did not total in a multiple of 6, so no Riposte this time.

Denzral will counter attack with his blade, attempting to use the mud kicked up to his advantage to plunge the sizzling-shimmering blade into the creature, and slicing it out.

Why do I have two sets of schticks?

3-6 on Initiative, the Ohura reacts quickly to your recovery and flails its tail at you, trying to swat you down into the crevasse. It rolls three successes, dealing 7 damage with the impact of its massive scaly tail.

However, you lash out with a Riposte! You learn immediately that it is too large to really avoid your attacks at this range - a flail of your saber inflicts 11 damage, burning open some scales.

You then follow up with a second slash, rolling nine successes on ten dice! A phenomenal roll by any means, Denzral. That puts another 15 damage into the Ohura, and maybe you sever a group of spines on its tail.

You sense incredible danger!

Denzral will swim up, angled away dodging what ever is coming, tapping Orthodox Guard only if it'll be of any major use. Denzral will stike back after the creatures attack if it wins initive.

1-6, initiative goes to the Ohura. There is a brief moment where its scales appear to glimmer and a series of stripes flashes over its body. It discharges an electric shock into the water immediately around it. You can make a Strength check to swim out of the shock... but you fail it. You take 10 damage and are Stunned for a round, halving your dice.

Even so, lightsabers are particularly dangerous. Despite the shock overpowering you and sending you into convulsions, you manage to land a slash for 9 damage.

The danger subsides.

I'll swap out Orthodox Guard for Martial Artist.

Denzral will attempt to sever the creature into two with an upwards sweep from his sizzling blade. .

This thing will be hard to cut in half based on its massive size!

4-4 is Evens for Initiative, so our hero attacks first! Even without an active Guard, you pull off five successes for 11 damage. It thrashes at you in turn, for 7 damage. No Riposte triggers.

----

Denzral will attempt to put some distance between him and the creature and use Advanced Saber Throw- straight down it's throat.

If this is not possible, how well will Martial Artist fare against the creature? One assumes meelee attacks against it are non-sensical.

In any event, he will continue to attack with his Lightsaber.

Putting in some distance requires you to leave close combat, which gives the monster a free attack on you. Do you have any powers that would prevent its attack or help you with a retreat?

You imagine karate chopping a scaly beast won't do much.

It has been a while, but-

Denzral will try to angle an attack at it's eyes, in an attempt to blind the fishey beast!

How many Force Points do I have? I assume none will be recouped through-out the game, and not knowing what lay ahead using them now while prudent may not help me if I am fighting heavily armed Force using assassins later on.
