"punked Cho" what happened exactly, I can't recall the showing, although I know everyone on the list of the smartest was captured by the Intelligencia (and it was Banner and Doom who pulled them out).
Avengers was a response to Hulk, atleast that's the original "origin".
The growing in size thing ... wasn't exactly sure what went down there, seemed to just expand his (and absorbing man's) particles until they spanned the solar system or something, which I'd say is still not enough to challenge HE or Thanos.
