As much as I don't like the whole Arishem angle they're going to play up... I can't not like this book.

It's so fun, and well written. It gives the feel of X-Force again.

Although killing off Arishem a month after killing off Tiamut... I'll be interested to see how they handle this in the future.

I agree with the X-Force argument, I've never followed X-men titles, but that was a pretty good run, I felt like collecting it. With there Avengers I'm pretty sure it will be the first Avengers arc I'll be collecting since... Busiek?

I hope #7 isn't the last we've seen of the Final Horsemen, always thought they were cool after they were introduced in X-force.

Spoiler:
I mean the twins owned them, but we never saw them die. And I wonder if eventually we'll see the return of Apocalypse himself, see how he reacts to the series of events since his death in Blood of Apocalypse

So, I attended the Marvel NOW to Infinity Panel at Chicago Comic Con and spoke with Rick Remender afterwords to get Uncanny Avengers #1 signed.

I asked him point blank "Why bring back Sentry?" and his response was actually kinda funny. He more or less said he was tired of Thor being used in a team setting only to get slapped around by people that have no business dealing with him and he wanted a legitimate threat that Thor would be hard pressed to beat and be plausible. He felt that Thor should only be used when "major shit's about to go down" (his exact words) and that if he doesn't "kick some phucking ass" (exact words) there should be a plausible reason why. And he said that their fight will be pretty badass.

Really cool dude.

Awesome!!

Should have asked if he was going to bring some eternals on board, somebody like Ikaris, Hero or Sersi would be a fine addition to the team if Thor is not there.

Yeah, in hindsight there's a lot of questions I wanted to ask that I glossed over.

Though, the guy in front of me said he was a fan of his Secret Avengers run, specifically what he did with Captain Mar-Vell, and Remender said he ended his story specifically so that he could touch up on Mar-Vell if he ever wanted to.

I wonder what the "fallout" from the Celestial assassination will be in this series. That is if Remender doesn't forget it entirely by the time he finishes 2 or 3 more issues.

Personally speaking, I think that Remender needs to work a little more on his delivery of details.

Excited to see how the Thor/Sentry fight goes down tomorrow. If it happens in that issue anyway.

The story was good, Sentry speed blitz an unsuspected Thor to another planet, where its a prelude to their fight and punches him out of under ground cavern.

The next two issues are going to be an all out brawl

Apocalypse himself needs to come back. I like seeing his kids shine, and I liked him sonning Prince Thor (who, it turns our, was very powerful himself), but the old man needs to come back with a giant feat and drop the mic on the whole situation.

How was Thor's axe able kill Arishem with one strike, but only able to critically injure Apocalypse? Was it re-enchanted afterward, or perhaps working in conjunction with the powers of Uriel did the trick?

I haven't been able to read Uncanny Avengers yet, aside from a few scans here and there.

I doubt any of the reasoning I am going to provide will make sense, but still here goes nothing: it struck him in the dome of his braincase. Supposedly, Celestial armor can't regenerate from a Jarnbjorn-inflicted wound, so his energy essence leaked and got dissipated in space, with the rest of the Celestial collapsing shortly thereafter.

Also, while this Celestial looked similar to Arishem, it was never called Arishem on-panel. Simply the Gardener.

I think it goes on until like at least February, and probably way more.

The series will get to issue 50 with them still trying to solve the Apocalypse Twins problem

As long as we get at least 10 issues of Kang I think we can all get behind that 😖hifty:
