How? He gave us that 15 minutes demo at E3. Besides anything he tries to pull is child's play compared to his Sons of Liberty bait and switch. I think we've seen more than enough. I suppose some people want to see as much as possible, and sometimes I am that way too, but it's not like he has not shown anything. At this point in time I rather he keep a few things to himself/for release.

And like Arachnid said MGS fans are used to this shit lol. It is a smart way to contrast the tension/stress and mature/gritty atmosphere of the games.

I'm not sure what you're referring to in the first para, I was referring to the plethora of goofy shit and ridiculous plot-lines and characters that are in the game, combined with his numerous attempts to retire the franchise.

Guess your last statement answers my question though lol

I don't see the prob? LoL. The goofy shit is fine with me because we also get sweet stealth mechanics and graphics. The clusttered/ridiculous plot lines I grew up with them, so they really ain't that bad to me(although there are eye-roll inducing plots and designs(looking at you Fatman and Raiden with your stupid GF) lol) I can see how someone new would have many problems with the huge clustter**** that is MGS lore. Not sure if I should really be mad he tried to retire. I'm glad he doesn't.

I guess I'd be mad if the games sucked, but they don't and he tends to deliver AAA genre/gen defining games every time a main sequel hits the market, so basically the good far outweighs the bad, and I tend to focus on the positive instead of the negative. Kind of shocking in this era of full-on internet hating, I know.

I'm not sure if you should be mad... I mean...

People sent him death threats, threatening to kill him and his entire dev team if he didn't make an MGS4. lol

It's ridiculous. Some say it was all bullshit lol. Who knows with Hideo. Wouldn't put it past the fans though.

Thumbs up to those guys! We got MGS4 and 5 lol.

lol.

I seem to remember Hideo saying he got a threat to make Sons of Liberty too. Sounds fishy. hmm

Must be dem La Li Lu Le Lo at it.

Both Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes will be coming to Steam.

That's crazy news. I will probably still get it for consoles because the game screams to be played on console and I have a feeling that the port will be garbage.

Excellent news my friend. Konami finally opening up and letting Kojima run things. I like where this is going.

It’s here, back at Mother Base, where we’re shown a little more of how Phantom Pain’s multiplayer will work. Every weapon, troop and piece of equipment you retrieve contributes to make your base bigger and better. Recruiting soldiers provides much-needed support in battle, while scientists unlock better equipment, which can be used both out on the field and also back at HQ.

This is key because other players can raid your Mother Base, to steal your resources, your troops… everything you’ve worked hard to build up. It’s therefore essential that you invest in defences for your base, from laser tripwires to gun turrets and UAVs - everything you find in the single-player game can be used back at base. It feels like a tower defence game played out in real-time in the Metal Gear world, with skilled players able to sneak in, steal what they need and get out without being detected. But get too greedy and you could alert the defending player, enabling them to join the fight to protect their precious base.

Although it was little more than a brief glimpse, Metal Gear Solid 5’s multiplayer already looks like one of the most interesting parts of the game. With Mother Base and resource management playing such a huge part of Phantom Pain, both in single- and multiplayer, stealing gear from other players could provide a fast-track way of getting essential equipment – but obviously it’s not without its risks.

That sounds ****ing awesome. If peoples Motherbases are really as varied and customizable as they say, this is going to be ridiculous in terms of replay value.

That does seem damn cool. Looking forward to it!

Ground Zeroes is $15 on Xbox. Considering I have been absolutely bored playing through the older games in my collection (aka Steam sales). I'm going to pick this up!

Why do you pay money for demos?

15 bucks is a nice price.

Ground Zeroes is a lot of fun. Smas you'll like it.

I paid less for Rogue Legacy recently and I assure you I've played it longer than most people did Ground Zero, and indeed haven't beaten it.

All right bro.

I hope Kojima, used to annoying his fans, will allow Ground Zeroes to be a pre-order bonus for Phantom Pain. I really don't want to pay for it. They literally cut the prologue out to make it a separate game.

If you can wait for Phantom Pain than by all means don't pay for Ground Zeroes.

It looks like it will be bundled with Phantom Pain to be perfectly honest. I paid 20 bucks for Ground Zeroes. Is it an obvious cash in? Yes, definitely. Is this the first time Kojima does shit like this? Nah, but not to this extent. Do I regret it? Not really. I guess I regret it because it could motivate Kojima or other developers to pull off similar shit. Other than that I had lots of fun with it and it did manage to sedate my MGS needs.

I'm at around 25 hours on ground zeroes so far. A first playthrough of all the missions clocks in at around 8 hours, and the replay value on each mission in insane. It was worth every penny.
