The point is, the Gladiator fans want us to ignore all of his actual battle feats, because healthy majority of them involve him going to toe with characters a dozen steps below Adam and Superman, and often enough, losing in the end, or being a hard fought battle.
Philo was trying to build a larger picture that pointed out what I was implying in my post earlier in the day by saying "Adam's made a career of having battle feats that would be the highlight of Gladiators existence", and Adam doesn't have the same kind of Gladiators embarassing lows to average him out.
He wasn't accentuating anything besides the difference of averages and quality of opponents and how they looked in those battles.
Stoic specifically asks for those embarassing lows to be pointed out. Completely ignoring the point of the post.
Then those supporting Gladiator start crying when a host of lows and other --some even not so shameful, though I doubt Supes or Adam fall as easily/if at all in the same circumstances -- losses are brought up.

Well actually you are an A-hole with an inflated ego, that's no secret. It was you that turned a simple discussion into an insult contest with your underhanded attacks when asked certain questions. Perhaps you should go back and read exactly when you decided to escalate this into a flame war, so don't pass your BS off on me, it could have gone a number of ways that did not include you're snide comments, but you couldn't help yourself. I guess it's just who you are, and you can't help yourself.
As for the reasons of my stance, one of these guys has many more showings in comparison to the other, which as you can imagine builds quite the resume. So since Gladiator has very few showings in comparison I decided to look at it from another perspective. Then you decided to post a scan of Gladiator vs Colossus, and made it out as if he was giving his all, when we all see that Peter is the only one giving his all in the battle. Why would I say this? Could it have been the pillar that he hits Gladiator with using all of his might while Gladiator stands there as if he is being hit by a pillow with a smile on his face? You wonder why I said Gladiator was clearly playing with him, and not taking it serious? The next time they are seen, Gladiator is unharmed, while Peter is out cold. I never saw a contest, while you on the other hand said that there was one.
No low-ball? When you couldn't prove that Peter made Gladiator try as hard as you made it out to be, you then jump to Corsair's pistol, and I said that no one can tell how powerful the gun was. For all we know it could have been a disruptor that was specifically fashioned to take down Gladiator or any number of guys. What's next should we bring up the brick that KO'd the Silver Surfer?
You then decided to take it up the the next level with even more insults. Then bring up the Gambit scene with the full deck of cards as another means of trying to paint Gladiator in a poor light, and I stated the only possible reason that he could have been defeated as easily as he was. Do you know how powerful the energy was that hit him? No you didn't so instead of stating this, you decided to once again throw insults, because you had no answer, which again makes you an A-hole.
So let me get this straight. When someone disagrees with you, it gives you the right to begin flaming and calling that person a troll, and insulting their intelligence? You're an A-hole face it, and you may need help for those anger issues. Justifying your poor attitude is a clear indicator of this.
